that 60s era is something the establishment learned from. they are now entrenched. it's why Sanders didn't have a chance. it's why Trump is now the republican nominee. it's why 3rd parties are constantly limited and ridiculed.

the ballot box is almost useless now.

yes they did. they got fat and happy, and sold out.
The war concentrated our minds back then, but there was also a consciousness that true power lies with the people.
It's the first 3 words of the Constitution..
Maybe sometime we'll realize that again, you gotta try.

wow, I used to hear this so much from the pro bush crowd. then when I would put up a list, i'd get the 'which ones of YOURS have you actually lost' riposte'.

maybe you're right. from the end of the civil war, government has recognized even more rights and freedoms than ever before. we should be fat, dumb, and happy about the unusual freedom we enjoy today, compared to the freedom our founding fathers had after the revolutionary war.
