MSNBC’s Ed Schultz suspended for Laura Ingraham insult

Ed Schultz has been suspended from MSNBC for calling conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham a "right wing slut" on his syndicated radio show.

Schultz opened his primetime MSNBC show on Wednesday apologizing to Ingraham, MSNBC, his family and viewers.

"It doesn't matter that I was on radio ad-libbing," Schultz said of his comments the day before. "What I said was terribly vile."

I hate Ed, and have said so a few times on this board. Bad messenger for the progressive message, imo. He embarassed himself w/ the comments about Laura.

But again - another stupid attempt on your part to create some kind of equivalency, which seems to be a neverending quest of yours....

i never said anything was equivalent....you're just ashamed of your lefties because you guys always run around proclaiming it is just the right who is full of vitriol....this thread shows what fools you and your far left wing hacks are. but of course, instead of just saying -- you know, i proclaim to be more independent and call both sides out, so yeah....ed fucked up and yeah, both sides are guilty of this -- you attack me with false accusations.

you always defend your lefties, until you're called on it. whenever someone on the right points out a flaw by the left, you immediately attack the person. if you really want to live up to your claim that you call both sides out, stop attacking every person on the right who points out the flaws of the left, especially when they are doing so to show that the left needs to call out their own. you look like a hack otherwise.

You sound all frantic again. Here's a hint - whenever you start lumping everyone together, and say things like "you guys all do this," it probably means you're generalizing and not thinking rationally.

I'm glad that Ed man'd up about this. When I heard what he said I figured it was par for him and would go unpunished.

Laura Ingraham is the exact opposite of what he stated. She's smart, a lawyer, and an excellent debater who knows her history and current facts. She's also played college sports, is still athletic and is a devout Catholic. Not to mention easy on the eyes. She's what I call "the complete package" and she reminds me a lot of my wife. In fact she grew up near where my wife did and they may have played against each other in college. We were undefeated against Yale, by the way. ;)
 
As far as right-wing pundits go, Laura is good people. Naturally, I disagree with her, but she's generally respectful & smart, and she walks the walk, as they say...
 
I've never really thought of Laura Ingraham as all "right-wing"... Is the only measure he uses just "fox"... If it is "fox" it "must be" all right wing?

I tried to find some evidence of this "right wing" assumption, but the only association she seems to have is this comment. 10 pages of google, and not one thing about her "right-wingyness" other than this guy's rant.

I used to listen to her show. She is definitely a conservative - of that, there is no doubt.

and once again....onceler has no defense or excuse, so he accuses his opponent of being "frantic"....you really need new material when you lose debates....or else you could start being honest and admit you screwed up

your posts in this thread so far all dumb and nothing but ad homs and an attempt to deflect away from ed's comments. in essence, you're defending him. pretty dumb, when he didn't even defend himself.

I never heard her radio show, it's entirely possible she's a bible-thumping super-social conservative who hates all things government. But I haven't really seen that the few times I've seen her on Fox. I was just wondering where he got that she's a "right wing slut"... Stupid guy, really. I liked her response. She didn't call for his firing, didn't complain, just said (paraphrasing), "Now I'll have to add this misogynist rant to my book."...

I've heard her radio show a couple of times over the years. To me she was just a normal conservative commentator. I don't recall her being particularly controversial but again I haven't heard her enough to really know one way or the other.
