Rick Scott Tells Seniors To Get To Work As GOP Eyes Gutting Social Security

While claiming that he wanted Americans to get to work despite the lowest unemployment rate in a half a century, Rick Scott said every able-bodied person should get a job.

Scott said, “Here is what I believe. We’ve got to get Americans back to work. If you’re able-bodied, don’t have young children, incapacitated, dependant, get to work.”

Notice who Sen. Scott left off of his list. Scott didn’t mention seniors as people who should not have to get to work.

The reason why Rick Scott didn’t mention seniors as people who should not be forced to get a job is that he and his party are planning to cut Social Security if they ever get total control of the federal government.

All of those 70-90-year-old Americans out there, if they are still able-bodied, they need to get off of the government dime and get jobs. :whoa: Scott’s tax plan is to make seniors on Social Security play at least $1,000 in federal income taxes a year.

The Republican plan is to gut Social Security and Medicare by raising the age requirements and cutting benefits.

Republicans plan to pay for more tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations by forcing senior citizens back into the workforce.

They are plenty of retired fools to believe what BS that Scott preaches.
 
Well, that just means Americans, like me, get creative with how we work.

Let me say, I don't need to work, I make way more than enough to make ends meet and have no bills including no mortgage on right at a $1 million house with 6 bedrooms and 3 baths. But I do. I get social security because I can, not that I need it. Because I work as an independent contractor, (eg., as a master electrician or as a writer of military history) I get all my "pay" reported on a 1099 with no taxes or FICA taken out. For the government none of that counts towards actually working and getting paid as far as social security is concerned. So the $20 to $30K a year I clear that way doesn't count towards what the government counts as "pay" (eg., what you get on a W2). Yes, I pay taxes on it, but I don't get pinged for getting social security because it technically isn't pay from work as the government defines it.

Of course, the money from that is chump change compared to having to pay on things like capital gains from land sales and such. I expect the government to rape me (one more reason to vote against Democrats) on that. I might well have to buy more raw land to avoid paying the taxes--fuck you Joke Biden!--and then resell it at a nice profit after doing some grading and flood plain mitigation on it.

Anyway, once again, only the poor get fucked by the Democrats and their stupid tax policies. I hate that happens to them, but the system is rigged against them and in favor of people like me. That's wrong and the way to fix it isn't to fuck people like me, but rather stop fucking poor people.
