A report by the Dallas Federal Reserve said that 37 percent of the jobs created in the US since 2009 have been in Texas.

Perry has used that record, and his forceful personality, to rise to the top of the popularity polls among GOP candidates.

A Gallup poll released Wednesday found that 29 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents nationwide say they are most likely to support Perry.

Since 1990, Texas has been adding people at twice the rate of the rest of the country, partly due to high birthrates among Hispanic families but partly due to migration from other states.

The influx of people means higher demand for services, which naturally creates more jobs.

It also pushes down wages, which attracts companies from elsewhere.

funny how low tax rates can create jobs, ain't it?

Government jobs, you mean. It is what increased under Perry. I thought you hated growing government.

In fiscal 2009, the IRS collected about $163 billion from Texans and the state received about $224 billion, for a net gain of $61 billion. Federal spending in Texas also exceeded tax payments in 2008 by $8 billion. It was the other way around in 2006 and 2007, when tax payments by Texans exceeded federal spending by a total of about $47 billion.

Perry Leads Pack of Wild Dogs
but it's ten light-years till the election

http://http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/gallup-perry-leading-nationally-romney-second-paul-third-212542697.html

Rick Perry, the religiously-insane Texas governor, sits at 29 percent, Romney slipped to 17% with Ron Paul (Who?) coming in third at 13% and Bachmann falling all the way to 10%.

Bachmann should've been prepared for this. When you attempt to lead a party of cavemen, you can't be surprised when they say, "We cain't let no dumb bitch lead us!"

I say Perry, Der Monkey Fuhrer's dumber twin, will self-destruct, probably sooner rather than later. Right now, I'd bet on that liberal, pro-gay, big-government gun-grabber from Massachusetts.

BTW, Jon Huntsman, the most sane candidate, is at 1%.
Sanity gets you NOTHING in today's GOP, Jon.

LOL, Perry prayed for rain and Texas had a record drought.

Now he's praying for victory.
