Read the thread, I explained why. Bush wasn't Reagan. In fact, the Bush family hated Reagan. Remember, Bush was a "compassionate conservative" and his dad believed in "a kinder, gentler America" and they both attempted to blend liberalism with conservatism because they thought it was the "right thing to do." I never promised anything with regard to their ideas.
The tax increases would be fine if they were going to result in increased tax revenues, but that won't happen, and we already know it won't. Obama know this, he said it in 2008, it's not about raising revenues at all, it's about redistributing wealth. It's a failed Marxist Socialist idea that will not work to bring back economic prosperity, so I say... go over the cliff! The "rich" will be just fine, they have their wealth. Let the financial calamity happen and plunge us into a massive recession, that's fine with me! The sooner we feel the hurt the better! Because, at some point, Americans will again turn to the principles of Reagan and conservatism with hope, and we can turn things around again.
