Republicans need to stop talking the economy down

Clinton set the housing bubble in motion with Fannie Mae and Freddie MAC. Bush just ignored it like a dumbass, or maybe it was deliberate and they were in cahoots. :dunno:

You guys always try to blame the Dem - but the buck stops w/ the President.

The bottom line is that Clinton's economy was awesome, and Bush's crashed. Bush had 8 years and his admin knew the warning signs.

Party that crashed the economy?

Bush Sr. left office w/ a recession. Clinton led us to the greatest prosperity we've known. Bush Jr. left with a total crash and the economy in a downward spiral. Obama led us to the longest recovery in modern times. Trump left office as the worst jobs President in modern history. Biden has added 9 million jobs.

the entire population is aware COVID was an excuse to push Biden down our throats. You shut down the economy to score wins in politics.

the most votes ever - hahahah. yeah. because of covid rule changes. no way he gets the most votes ever if the rules were not changed

and rather than solve problems you fuck stains just waste time on January 6 bullshit. tick.tick.tick.

I get that it's a campaign season - but they're hurting economic prospects, and also hurting working Americans.

We've added over 9 million jobs since Biden took office. The unemployment rate is LOW. Just today, growth and earnings news exceeded expectations, and the market has been going up.

It is FAR from perfect - obviously, inflation. But wages are also low, and other indicators aren't where they need to be.

But this is not the disaster Republicans portray it as. And it's time for them to stop talking that way - because the rhetoric has real-world impact.
The Democrats need to stop hurting the economy and they will when they are thrown out of office. ;) You can smell the desperation on the Democrats and it is sweet.

C'mon, cawacko - that's a poor characterization of what I said.

I acknowledged in the OP that we're far from perfect. People are still hurting. But Republicans constantly making this sound like a disaster only makes things worse - that is the point of the OP.

None of us are new to politics here. When things are good the party in power gets credit, when things are bad they get blame. We obviously have an election coming up and the Democrats biggest weaknesses in on inflation and the economy. So it's natural you don't want Republican candidates focusing on that. It's the same way I wish Democrats would stop focusing on Trump (and he would go away) but they do so because they feel it's too their electoral advantage.

I'm old enough to have seen multiple Democratic and Republican Presidents and the behavior from partisans is the same, they talk things up when their person is in office and emphasize the negative when their not.

If I saw people saying don't talk down the economy through multiple Presidents of different parties then I could respect the principled stand. But all this feels like "my side is in power and things aren't looking great so I don't want the other side to talk about it".

On that, we're in complete agreement.

But given the global situation and the idea that the US dollar is no longer tied to anything tangible - they're really playing w/ fire here. I don't consider this to be normal electioneering. Constant dooming could push a precarious situation over the edge, where even the mighty Republicans won't be able to fix it.

What was bullshit in the OP?

Please be specific. Did I lie about the jobs #'s?

Jesus Christ man, if you can't figure out the current state of the US economy, there is nothing more to discuss. Go on with your stupid attempts to convince yourself everything is OK and running smoothly. Not much hope for you going forward.

Better read the OP again. I didn't say everything was OK, or that things were running smoothly.

So, you can't name a single thing that was bullshit in the OP then?

Why is the US dollar not tied to anything tangible now?

I'm sure your oblivious ass has no idea what that means, well what that means is everyone in America is instantly 15% poorer.

Yeah, let's get some more of that, huh?! How about not.

Glad you acknowledge there is room for the Republicans to run things better than the Democrats have run things.

Well said

I cannot believe someone would post a thread this asinine right now.

At a time when almost everything you buy is double or more the price it was and inflation is skyrocketing due to Biden policy. Only 25 days of diesel supply going into winter, heating oil rationing, likely there will be fuel shortages soon.

Here's where it all started:

https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2021-01-25/pdf/2021-01765.pdf

On day 1 of the installed Biden potatohead regime. He's a potatohead, but those pulling his strings are doing this deliberately.

People will die from exposure and starvation this winter because of that. :|
No shit! Well said. Do these morons grocery shop or pay electric bills?
