Republicans are hoping that trump is defeated, his supporters do not blame them, and they can go back to business as usual. There are three dangers to that:
1) trump still might win.
2) his supporters may blame Republicans for his defeat.
3) The rest of society might blame Republicans for trump.
Republicans must dog whistle like they have never dog whistled before. They need to convince trump supporters they are with trump, and the rest of society they are against trump. It is an interesting challenge.
