Republicans are not politically winning

Walt

Back To Reality
If it is something popular, Republicans are not shy about taking credit. So we should look to see if Republicans are taking credit for overturning Roe v Wade. Nope, they are in an absolute panic to seem uninvolved.

Worse yet, they are demanding whoever leaked the draft opinion to be punished for leaking it before Republicans could soften it to try to keep some political advantage.

This is a good time to remind everyone that the Republican Party of the anti-abortion party, and now it matters. They were willing to call themselves the anti-abortion party, when it did not matter. They should do it now too.

On the flipside, some Republicans are trying to take credit for Biden's infrastructure bill that they voted against.

My hope for 2024 is that the GOP nominates Trumpf to be the face of their party, and they run on a platform that they are the party that overturned Roe.

what? do you ever proof your word salad

Worse yet, they are demanding whoever leaked the draft opinion to be punished for leaking it before Republicans could soften it to try to keep some political advantage.
how do you soften a opinion?
The opinion is written - nothing to spin-although Dems are trying their best

I haven't heard or seen Republicans proudly and enthusiastically advocate for a specific policy position of their own making since conservatives were hollering at me that invading Iraq would be an awesome idea.

Well, Walter, it appears that the Supreme Court is going to leave the issue of abortion to the people of each state.

Your tutorial for the day:

What is the Tenth Amendment in simple terms?
The amendment says that the federal government has only those powers specifically granted by the Constitution. These powers include the power to declare war, to collect taxes, to regulate interstate business activities and others that are listed in the articles.

how do you soften a opinion?

By not completely overturning Roe v. Wade, but doing a little clip on it. This opinion is a hard overturn. Previous opinions clipped Roe v. Wade.

The justices were getting the political advice to throw a little raw meat to their followers, but to soften it a bit.

you are full of un-cited delusional crap as usual
You act like SCOTUS is a political body coordinating with legislators

.

would that be the infrastructure bill approved by the Republicans that Nancy finally allowed to go to vote months afterward?.......

'The Art of Dirty Politics,' by Donald Trump.

Actually, it is written by somebody else, but Trump takes the credit for it.

The infrastructure bill virtually all Republicans in the House voted against.

oh I thought you meant the infrastructure bill they passed......the bill they voted against wasn't an infrastructure bill and never became law......I believe it died.....

That doesn't change the fact that 70% of the country has ONLY known a nation under Roe, where abortion was safe & legal for all women.

Coincidentally, that's around the % of the population that supports keeping Roe the law of the land. That's a huge majority. Being anti-abortion rights is now a fringe, extremist position - we'll see how it plays out in the election.

With respect, it seems like the Republicans ARE politically winning.

That is what this decision is all about.

The 2022 elections will be interesting.

This isn't a high school popularity contest.

A draft opinion leaked from the Supreme Court has indicated that a majority of the justices were in favor of overturning the constitutional right to abortion.

Ya esta. Stop whining, get over it.

gas lighting shit stains

SCOTUS is supposed to be free of political pressures - lifetime appointments and not being voted on are perfect examples of this in play

We are upset with the leak because it was just another example of the left shitting over things that had a purpose.

The elections are so close these days, and this decision just shifted 5% into the Democratic column, so they are not winning politically.

And they are really not winning culturally. Same sex marriage is still the law of the land. Racism is being moved away from. Abortion is a rare legal victory for Republicans, that will lead to political losses, because culturally America is just not where Republicans are.

As I said - it's a radical, right-wing SCOTUS now, that doesn't serve the interests of the majority of Americans.

That WILL be a popularity contest on election day, btw.

You seem to be misinformed so severely that your opinions on the topics you list are similar to those that Joe Biden is parroting from his handlers.

I am not really a representative Republican, but I can tell you that your impression of Republicans is wrong. Republicans are not racist or homophobic any more than Democrats.

The Republicans and the Democrats are only the3 opposite sides of the same coin. However, it's the same coin.

That you have been deceived by the propagandists hoping to deceive the weak minded should be a warning for you.
