Republican Letter Calling For The RNC to Cut Donald Trump’s Funding

More than 70 top Republican elected officials and party operatives have signed a letter calling for the Republican National Committee to stop funding Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. Former members of Congress, RNC staffers and other party insiders say the RNC should focus on Senate and House races where Republicans face tough elections.

I'm pretty sure this has never happened to a candidate. 70 top elected officials and party ops. Trump is a disaster. But at least he is destroying the GOP.

I don't think Trump was ever a serious candidate. His supporters are still holding onto the dream that he is, but I don't think he actually cares about being President. I think the only thing that's keeping him even mildly in the game is that he hates losing, but his comments on taking a long vacation wouldn't come from a candidate who was all in on actually leading the country.

This is a side thing for him. A way to promote his brand & have some fun, and get all of that attention that he's addicted to. Many in the GOP are starting to do the smart thing, and distance themselves from him.

A real shame. The GOP field had some real candidates & true conservatives that could have made this a serious campaign.

I thought the GOP field was weak. If they can't handle Trump in a debate, they aren't worthy of POTUS.

I have a new theory that I am trying to put together on why he is running. Perhaps not to help Hillary, but to set the stage for Corporate government that will try citizens in military tribunals. That will build walls. Erode the 1st Amendment. If he doesn't win, perhaps the dark powers that be are simply testing the waters and they have something on him and told him to run and to run as egregious as possible.
 
Well it didn't seem trumpf did a lot of "debating" his approach was name calling & belittling his opponents..

I dunno about your theory but stranger things have happened..

Trump most certainly cares about his hotels, casinos and golf courses which are reportedly losing customers and money, so why would he do that if he only entered the race for shits and giggles?

I really didn't think they were weak overall. I wouldn't say that they couldn't handle Trump in debate. They just didn't take him seriously until it was too late. They underestimated the stupidity of the primary voters.

I still think Kasich would have been an outstanding President. That was a real swing & miss for the GOP. A guy with a serious track record of achievement & intelligence. It's almost impossible for me to believe that there is a world where more voters chose a buffoon like Trump, who has no record at all, over Kasich.

Trumpf pays himself enormous rent from the Trump campaign coffers when staying at his own homes and finances flying his own plane with campaign donations while on the campaign trail.

You could see that, every step of the way. I think Jeb was ready to defend criticisms on policy. I don't think he knew how to counter "low energy." I don't think Rubio expected someone to make a big issue out of his height.

Trump took the campaign to gutters previously uncharted. And that's really something noteworthy for a political campaign in America.

you under-estimate the theme of the campaign - throw out the establishment.
It was the same theme for Bernie.
Putting the same stale politicians does not make reform. Bernie's reform was by not using big donors.
 
I wonder if Trump is throwing the race so Hillary will reward him with some backroom contracts with the government. Maybe Trump wanted into the defense industry and devised a plan to help his friend and help himself along the way.
