Does this make him a sell-out or a pragmatist?

WASHINGTON, April 23 (Reuters) - Billionaire industrialist Charles Koch, a key source of financing for conservative Republican causes along with his brother, said Democrat Hillary Clinton might make a better president than the candidates in the Republican field.

Koch, in an interview to air on Sunday on ABC's "This Week" program, said that in some respects Bill Clinton had been a better president than George W. Bush, who Koch said had increased government spending. Then when asked if Hillary Clinton would be a better president than the Republicans currently running, he said, "It's possible, it's possible."

ABC said Koch, who along brother David leads an influential political organization called Freedom Partners, has been displeased so far with the tone of the Republican presidential race, in which billionaire Donald Trump leads U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Ohio Governor John Kasich. Asked if he could support Clinton over the Republicans, Koch responded, "We would have to believe her actions would be quite different than her rhetoric. Let me put it that way."

While many conservatives have questioned Trump's commitment to their agenda, a spokesman for the Koch brothers said last month that they would not use any of their money to block him from winning the Republican nomination."

What would they be selling out?

HRC is for sale, Trump is not.
More significant would be the effect on the fringe left who are not fond of those guys.
So which is it ?
No matter what, it helps the brothers Koch.

Christi, another way to frame the question for this is to ask from a liberal perspective what does it mean when the evil Koch brothers support Hillary and say she doesn't really back the left wing rhetoric she espouses?

Instead of a "sell out"....sounds like a "buy out". The Koch's are US Citizens...no? And they reserve the right to spend their earned income just as does any other US Citizen. At least that is what the Constitutional "rule of law" has concluded time and time again. Or does the rule of law apply only to the left, no right wingers get to exercise their Bill of Rights and guaranteed freedoms? Just ask the radical crowds purchased by George Soros that continually and violently attempt to shut down THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH of anyone that does not agree with their fascist idea of FREEDOM. THE SELL out would have to be the "CLINTONS" and MOVE ON CROWD, along with Black Life Matters, The Wall st. protest squatters, etc.....if they freely choose to sell their political trust to some 3rd party instead of keeping the rhetorical campaign promises of WORKING FOR THE PEOPLE. Think about it...that is if it don't make your head hurt due to observation of the reality that surrounds you.

Leave it to the left to state that "up" is "down", north is south, etc., and expect people to buy into the illogical and irrational "left wing thinking". The one providing the money is the SELL OUT and the ANTI-HERO, the Clintons aren't selling anything. :whoa: Sounds like the LEFT sold their souls in the early 60s. That was the last time a TRUE DEMOCRAT held the office of POTUS (JFK)...since that time the social communists have hi-jacked the party.....and now 18 trillion dollars later....they still have their hat in their hands asking for, "MORE SOUP PLEASE....."

Who said they "support" Hillary?

Did you even read the OP?

The way I looked at it was that republicans say Hil is in bed with Wall St. and to millionaires/billionaires like Koch, it's not such a bad thing.

Let's cut to the chase. Repub candidates are using Hillary's Wall St. ties against her but it appears that ultimate Wall St. insiders like the Kochs don't think it's so bad. So what's the bottom line?

Anyone who gets support from the Koch Brothers AND Bernie Sanders is appealing to a very broad political spectrum indeed!

Isn't that what the Sander's Revolution is about? Hillary is Republican lite, she is socially liberal on some things, but other things she is more conservative. She is actually a pretty safe candidate for Republicans

In some ways she is more conservative than Trump.

And of course you probably know that this is my problem with her. She is liberal in areas where I am conservative and conservative in areas where I would be more liberal. That and I just don't like her. But that's ok. I really can't think of a relevant politician that I do like. Kasich comes close....

I think he is being pragmatic. Doesn't Koch also donate money to democrats? He is probably just covering his bases so he can still influence policy regardless of who wins.

He doesn't support Trump. Does that make him a liberal? :rofl2:
