A Republican was always going to win this district. The big story is how dramatically the margin narrowed from the last race - which we're seeing in just about every race since 2024.

When Republicans have to fight like hell to preserve districts designed to be easy wins... They are in real trouble.

What we are seeing in @FastLane is a person who is struggling to cope with the reality of the situation and so instead they create an Earth 2 scenario where this result is actually good news so they do not have to worry about what it could lead to.
And we want magats to do that, to tell themselves this is good news and to 'stay the course as no change is needed'
The downside of the Two-Party system is that most people will vote for the lesser evil and complain about those of us who vote third party.
Oddly, after 2,500 years doing this, there is not a clear solution. If there are two choices, and only two choices, you can have a vote, and have the majority win. There are almost always many choices.
If you just have a plurality win, then a tiny group who all vote in unison can rule the day. With multi-round voting, or ranked voting, it just becomes a formalization of the two party system. So every method leads back to two parties.
The problem is we need to compromise to get anything done.
