The insurgency was presented as an option near day one. This is not new. Russia has the army to take over Ukraine. The question is can they hold it? They experienced that problem in Afghanistan. We supplied the insurgency there too. This turns into a US proxy war that wastes Russia's money and lives.

Afghanistan is larger than Ukraine and has a far more unhospitable topography for any military- except indigenous Afghans.
Many Ukrainians are already pro-Russian
Attempting to contain an imaginary Russian attack on NATO countries is going to cost NATO billions.

well they do advise people to leave wounded and frightened animals alone, great point

looks like the Ukrainians can handle this one anyway, ruskie army is a mess and more stingers arrive every day.....thank you Raytheon Technologies
