Yup they are 100% hypocrites as they will gladly squash State rights to get their way as they are trying to do in pushing a National Abortion ban after decades of saying Roe needed to go and the power needed to be returned to the States.

And ya Mike is that sickly sweet type gross religious nut. Speaking polite, while demanding you be burned at the stake.

He blames abortion for the mass shootings we see, with some warped reasoning that basically says 'if we did not abort all those babies we would have more workers today and the tax base and country would be healthier, giving people more hope. Thus getting rid of depression and mass shooters'. Yes indeed, he has said stuff along those lines.

Pence IS a stooge. I was thinking about their reliance on religion for all legislation that they put forward. He likes to 'pray' on legislation before he signs it.
As governor, Pence signed anti gay legislation that had to be repealed due to massive pushback from businesses who threatened to leave the state.
I also believe there were sports events that were going to be cancelled.

The way he used to stare adoringly at trump was creepy.

And his pathetic desire to BE trump was nauseating.

THAT REALLY FREAKED ME OUT when that SOB stated that this country needs more births for more "workers" to lower the tax base. At the same time, keep the tax breaks for the rich, get rid of Social Security and Medicare. Let Big Pharma regulate drub prices. Get rid of unions! Keep corporate welfare. Talk about some serious fascist shit!

They want to reduce education as much as possible, get rid of all social services, and create a work at all costs or die 'captured' work force.

"States' rights" are only a thing with Reichwingers when a state wants to enforce some fascist thing or the other on its citizens. Examples: Banning books, banning abortion, anything to do with guns except regulating their ownership, limiting the ability of cities to set their own minimum wage, teaching religion (theirs, of course) in public schools, etc. Otherwise they're all about using the power of the federal govt. to cram their ideas of "morality" down the citizenry's collective throat.

Should the Republican Impeachment hearings shake the confidence of just enough Dem's that Biden cannot survive an Impeachment in the House and Senate, the idea, YOU GUYS ARE PUSHING, that then Republicans must jump in to supply the votes to save Biden or the Republicans are to blame is just about one of the most base and stupid things you can suggest. It would be the same if Nancy Pelosi lost her conference's support.


That is NOT how things work or have EVER worked when the Majority has the power to keep their own leader in power but they lose the confidence of their own party.

If, as was the case before Mike Johnson, there is no support for a leader in the Majority and they cannot then put anyone in the speaker chair, some form of coalition gov't can be considered (happens in many other countries) where any of the fractured groups in the Republican party can approach the Dem's, offer some form of power share (committees, etc) in return for their support and votes.

That is NOT what McCarthy did. That is not what Johnson did, and thus they will only EXPECT votes from their own majority conference and not from the other side.

If bipartisan support from the Dems for McCarthy or anyone else then some form of bipartisan power share compromise MUST be on the table. The republicans never did that thus they got no Dem votes, AS IT SHOULD BE.

As it would be if Pelosi or Biden lost the confidence of their majority and needed Republican votes to save them.

I support State's Rights, but understand the need for a federal government. The Trumpers want to destroy the Federal government...except where it has the power to execute citizens, even if they are innocent as Terry Gardner was pushing, and cramming their ideology down the throats of Americans.
 
Anyone who watched Game of Thrones should know this is EXACTLY who Mike Johnson is except he chooses not to hide amongst the poor by dressing like them and instead dresses amongst the rich and powerful to court their support instead...

Like the High Septon Mike will speak in calm and measured ways but he is seeking power to criminalize gay marriage and the types and activities and sex he assumes only gays partake in. He wants to put mothers who have abortions, for ANY reason, including rape, incest or severe birth defect risking the mother's life, into work camps and force them to do hard labor, as punishment.


He is the worst of the worst religious zealots who is not content to live his own life according to his moral views but wants to seize as much State power to FORCE you to live to his morals.

I suspect that the (R)s will try to keep him muzzled till the next election. When/if his extremist views become common knowledge, the (D) voters will flood the polling places next Nov. Remember how dismantling Roe v Wade backfired on them last year?

I think they will try and i think he will even try. BUt i also think if any thing comes up that requires him to speak or vote on anything abortion or same sex related he simply will not be able to withhold his bigotry and hate, as it runs that deep.

he is a leopard who cannot hide his spots.
