Rep Bachman is insane

I stockpile weapons and ammo. my neighbors stockpile weapons and ammo. My friends are stockpiling weapons and ammo. Guess what BAC? we're not right wing. we're American.

Dude, I don't care how much you deny it .. YOU are a right-winger.

Now who is not debating honestly? You're using broad sweeping generalizations and profiling to place all those who disagree with you in the same category.

There are numerous threads on this board and numerous posts on here where you have said that my liberty doesn't matter to you, that ONLY the society matters, as long as it's good for society, the individual doesn't matter.

Dishonest again.

Freedom is good for society and I've never said anything different. What I've said is that individual interpretations of "freedom" does not supercede the freedom of society.

Some may feel it is their individual freedom to discriminate against anyone they don't like .. but that stands in stark contrast to the freedom afforded to all members of society.

That isn't a very difficult concept to grasp.

who can argue with obtuseness.

then why don't you be honest and try to rewrite the constitution? what you believe in goes completely against what the constitutional framers made this country on and don't even go near the slavery argument. It holds no water. Neither does the 18th century argument. If you feel the need to attempt to use those, you truly do not understand the concepts of the constitution.

Re-writing the Constitution is absurd and completely unneccesary .. especially given the Constitution is a living document that has been amended many times.

Plus the fact that it doesn't require re-writing or an amendment to interpret that no one has the right to discriminate in piublic places. That argument is dead.

I'm as familiar with the Constitution as you are, more so in my estimation.

I'm also familiar with the reality and fact that life and society are dynamic, ever changing and evolving. Trying to find the way forward by reaching hundreds of years into the past is foolish, doomed to failure, and not the trait of free-thinking intelligent people.

Thankfully, this is NOT the America of 1776.

But the concepts of totalitarianism and non-totalitarianism are unchanging. You are a totalitarian, and love totalitarianism, that's why you're determined to warp the discourse.

what is absurd is this totally insane belief that the constitution is a living and breathing document. It is absolutely none of the sort. It is strictly and wholly a legal document that defines the powers and limitations of a federal government. Nothing more, Nothing less. To attribute some divine aspect of the constitution as something that can be interpreted differently each fucking year that something changes in our society is delusional and demented. It turns the cornerstone of legal doctrine on its ear, twice.

By advocating for the ever changing aspect of a strict but amendable in to some sort of 'it means what we need it to mean' so that you can feel comfortable in a bullshit progressive society is self defeating. It's setting yourself and society up for a huge fall in to tyranny.

THAT is why people are stockpiling.

Whatever.

Ridiculous, but you are certainly entitled to your opinion.

If anyone has any doubt whether she is bat-shit crazy, please watch the video below. It's her questioning of Bernake and Geithner:

Who else stock piles weapons but right-wingers? The very act of "stock-piling" demonstrates a belief one will have to use them at some point.

Thats not entirely accurate.

I have far more ammunition than I need. I caught some lots of .45ACP on sale and bought quite a bit. Considering that the prices have gone up by as much as 50%, I am glad I did. Now I can target shoot without getting fleeced.

I found a particular load that is very accurate in my 7mm hunting rifle. Rather than run the risk of having difficulty finding it when I wanted it, I bought a good bit of it.

I also buy when I have extra money so I won't be unable to go shooting (especially with my kids) when money is tighter.

Not all stockpiling is done by survivalists nutcases. (not that I am claiming to be completely sane, mind you)
