Remember when Europe was going to crumble and the EU fall apart. Remember when the Euro had already failed, it was just not official yet?
Remember when I laughed at the jokers here who made those claims?
Federalism is still alive and well in Europe. IN fact it saved Europe in the latest financial crisis. As I said the trend in history is the movement toward large centralized federations. The U.S. has moved from powerful smaller states to a large federal government, and that was how we became a superpower. Now Europe has done the same thing and survived its first big test.
South America is moving that way as is Asia.
The next step for the United States is also forming in the manifestation of NAFTA and ultimately the UN. In another 100 years we will be close to if not in a one world government. Technology has made this necessary because of the speed and homogenization of our culture.
