Remember when Ghdahafi was Bush's success story?

"President Bush lifted sanctions against Libya on April 23, 2004,
after successful intelligence cooperation on WMD issues and efforts by Libya to resolve compensation for Pam Am flight 103 survivors."

Again. Lifting sanctions is hardly "we're good friends all because I attacked!"

Basically Bush said, because Khaddafi said, that he got rid of WMD because of the attack. Then sanctions that were on them because of WMD were lifted. It's not "shocking" or "bragging" about how we became blood brothers. It's just what happened.

Their status was changed and sanctions were dropped, lucrative oil deals followed and Condi called him an "Ally" on the war on terror, that is the one that "got" me! :palm:
The sanctions put on them for WMD programs were removed when they got rid of WMD programs? This is your "evidence" of Bush bragging about how we'd become blood brothers and were thinking of getting married?

Will you please stop trying to re-write history.

Libya's decision to give up its weapons of mass destruction programmes was a "personal triumph" for Prime Minister Tony Blair, Defence Secretary Geoff Hoon said.
Apparently drawing a contrast with the confrontational stance taken by US President George Bush's administration towards so-called rogue states, Mr Hoon praised Mr Blair's policy of engagement with countries like Libya and Iran.
But he also suggested that the use of military force by the US and UK in Iraq may have prompted the decision of Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi to renounce WMD.
The Prime Minister has faced some criticism for announcing the deal with Libya on Friday night ahead of Mr Bush, who made a similar statement around ten minutes later.
Mr Hoon insisted there was no rift between the men, but stressed that much of the credit for securing the deal with Col Gaddafi must go to Mr Blair.
He told Sky News' Sunday with Adam Boulton: "This is a genuine international co-operative effort, but can I emphasise the Prime Minister's policy of engagement is very much his personal policy that he has driven through and has now proved successful."
While Mr Bush publicly branded Iran a member of the "axis of evil" and refused to lift the US embargo of Libya when United Nations sanctions ended in September, Mr Blair has actively sought dialogue with both states.
