BTW, as I have said before, I knew Governor Wallace, he was a family friend. He was a racist, but as with all people, he had other dimensions and some were not bad. He was not one to ever be afraid to stand up for what he felt was right. I respect that.

I'm not sure your interpretation is correct. Wasn't Wallace a DEMOCRAT when he was involved in his attempts to stop desegregation?
