march 25 2025 LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A trial date has been set for the two men charged with murder for allegedly running down a retired police chief as he was bicycling in Las Vegas.

Attorneys for Jesus Ayala and Deputy District Attorney John Giordani appeared before Judge Jacqueline Bluth on Tuesday to schedule a trial for Ayala and co-defendant Jzamir Keys.

They all agreed on starting the trial on Monday, Nov. 3. A status check will be held on June 17.

Keys' attorney was unable to attend Tuesday's hearing but informed Giordani that he could work with any date chosen, the prosecutor told Bluth.

Ayala and Keys are charged with the 2023 murder of Andreas Probst, 64. Police and prosecutors allege the two suspects intentionally hit and killed Probst as he was riding a bike in the Centennial Hills neighborhood.

There was an accident that forced me to leave the highway into Columbus, Ohio a few years back and I was amazed at seeing white and Black thugs patrolling the streets together. It turns out that at least some of the criminals have moved past racism. It would be great... If they were not still thugs.

There does not seem to be any possible accident defense in this case, so they will get something higher than 20 years, probably higher than 30 years. There is a real chance their parole board has not even been born yet.
