Regarding the recent gun bill defeat.

Funny how the conservative senators and congressmen who voted against the recent gun bill say they did so with concern for a possible violation of our civil rights....and yet they had and have NO problem with the Patriot Act and all it's implications for violation. Just saying.

And for the record: Given the plethora of handguns (revolvers and semi-automatics), rifles (bolt action, semi-automatic) and shotguns, I would say that if you can't defend your home with one or more of these and an AR-15 is considered your only salvation, I'd say you're just a lousy shot. Just saying.

When Clinton appoints two Justices gun restriction will be quickly coming.

Like it or not, Obama did extend the parts of the Patriot Act that were scheduled to expire. I have a problem with this, but our right wingnut friends seem not to...which is confusing given the powers of invasion of privacy, violations of habius corpus, etc. and such the Patriot Act has. Yet mention anything about limitations on access to guns, and they go ballistic about personal freedom, rights, privacy, etc. Go figure.

The 2nd amendment exists as protection against anyone that would cause harm upon We the People....including the Federal Government, that does have access to Automatic weapons....just saying. I believe anyone should have access to any weapon that he can secure and operative without it falling into the hands of agents that would cause our nation harm. Its a common sense regulation. No tanks, cannons, nukes, etc., that clearly represents a threat of being lost due to the inability to properly store and secure it. But as far as small arms.....the skys the limit...there should be no regulation placed on any shoulder mounted small arms nor side arm. Every citizen soldier (possible) should have access to at least one rapid fire small arms....if they are to have any chance whatsoever in protecting their life and property...should warfare ever take place upon our native soil.

Don't think that it cannot happen. Having access to a raid fire weapon does not make anyone a criminal...its the intent that makes the criminal with access....deadly when he/she faces no opposition.
