I've been watching this insanity and trying to perceive any hidden logic.

On the surface it appears just as we are seeing it; Republicans, especially Senate Republicans, protecting Trump and themselves by hiding the truth.

A possible hidden motive is to see the inevitable and do nothing to shape the outcome. In short, the Republicans see this isn't going away and that they'll get creamed in the 2022 and 2024 elections as other investigations are completed and most of the Insurrections plea guilty and flip on other Insurrectionists. Most of this will happen in 2022. The heavy hitter trials will be in 2024. All the data, all the testimony will be back in the news again just as President Harris is running for President as an Incumbent and Trump is opposing her. Who would the Republicans run if not Trump? Better, in their minds, to let this play out like Trump wants then watch the courts and the public take down Trump, not them.

Therefore, yes, the Republicans take a major hit in most elections (they'd be extremely lucky to tip the Senate to R) and still lose the WH and House to the Democrats in the next two election, but Trump would be done and Trump's fans wouldn't be able to blame the Republicans for it. America would continue it's return to normalcy. LOL
