Democrats are hot for a commission because *they are afraid* it will go away. Also, they would very much like something like a Patriot Act to come out of it—except geared against their favorite boogie man, ‘white supremacists’.

All intelligent people know this isn't going away because of the trials. The plea deals first, the smaller trials later in 2022 and the big trials in 2023 and 2024 where the world will see militia members testify about the who, what, when, where and why they attacked the Capitol on 1/6.

Democrats won’t lift a pinky unless it’s politically expedient. So much of their agenda is heading for the crapper that they need a deflection. Inflation is coming. The border is already a disaster and it will only get worse because Biden refuses to address it.

Voters tend to move on, especially these days when so much else besides a Capitol riot that’s already past tense. Democrats *need* 1/6 to stay in the news cycle.

And it may well, just not for the reasons they want it to. This thing is starting to stink.

I know Democrats will fuck up a wet dream, but the attack on the Capitol was a major event noticed by all of the world's powers...and the Republicans are trying to sweep it under the rug. Why? It's obvious why they are doing it. The reasons I posted above.

Politicians don't control the courts as the recent SCOTUS Obamacare ruling proved. The Republicans can play all the games they want in Congress, but the trials of the Insurrectionists, the conspirators and the militia members will continue unabated....unless you think Biden will pardon them. :laugh:

The Wild Card is if the militias seek revenge against Trump and/or the WH contacts who promised them pardons. IMO, Donnie Junior is going to be dead or seriously fucked up inside two years.

Haven't you noticed no one has heard a peep out of the militias except for a couple of comments? No protests, no showboating, nothing. Nada. Zip. Do you really think they are all cowards and paper tigers or do you think they are planning something?

I think they are planning something...and it's not against the Feds. ;)

Notice how that explains why things got quiet all of a sudden. Notice how you’re actually right that these rag tag groups are paper tigers and won’t act unless ‘they get a little nudge’.

And it’s not like they haven’t been caught doing this sort of the thing before. Back when liberals were actually liberals they were bitching about the FBI tricking gullible Muslims into acting illegally. And one of the leaders in the Proud Boys has worked as fricking informant for the feds.

This shit has been going on except now they are using it domestically. It’s bullshit and it’s dangerous.

So, we can sweep it under the rug and ‘get Trump’ or we can investigate it before we turn into a fricking police state.

First, I'm not a liberal so that's one lie you are guilty of repeating.

Second, that's a matter for the courts to decide. Would you like to wager on the outcome? The plea deals are starting to trickle out, the trials will come later next year and run until the 2024 election with the little fish up front and the big fish later.

The Republicans are screwing themselves and We, the People by being cowards and not taking this head on. They should be leading the investigation, not trying to sweep it under the rug.

Lastly, outside the law and politics are the militias. The fact they've been silent doesn't mean they've been silenced. I truly believe they will seek revenge and try to kill whomever in the White House coordinated with them for the Insurrection and promised pardons should it fail.

I think this because that's exactly what I would do if facing life in prison for domestic terrorism. I'd go out with a bang and take those who betrayed me with me.

Why do you think the Insurrectionists will not get fair shake? Why do you want to give a pass to people who attacked, injured and maimed police? Who you want to give a pass to those who planned and executed an event that resulted in five deaths and multiple injuries?

All of those who are guilty will be rolling on each other. It's been six months and this will take at least 2 years to wrap up all of the criminal cases.
