To impeach or to convict? My understanding is that as long as the Republicans control the House, they can impeach, but like Pelosi faced, there's not enough votes to convict.

Correct but there will not be enough republicans in the house to vote to impeach even though they will have a slim majority. There was a big difference with Pelosi, she had a much larger margin and Trump was guilty of impeachable charges both times he was impeached. The republicans will have to have nearly every republican vote to impeach on totally bogus charges. Biden has done nothing to impeach him for.

Guilt has nothing to do with a political prosecution. If the Republicans have 218 members in the House, will they be able to impeach Biden or not? My understanding is that they will have the power to do so.

I have heard many times that the Republican party was on the cusp of washing their hands of Trump, but they always come crawling back to him on their hands and knees. He seems to transcend politics and has become their demigod.

Even though we live in the "wilderness," where we have severe winter weather, our highways and bridges are in great shape. No thanks to the (R)s, of course. I think that's accurate. Not only will they have (at best) a slim margin, but they are embarrassed, and they are fighting among themselves. I don't think the impeachment happens now, but who the fuck cares? Everyone knows what it would be about. Biden would probably just laugh through the whole thing.

That assumes that every single Repug will go along with that dog and pony show.- Some are there by a thread. If they want to keep their seat, they have to earn it. Going impeachment crazy is places that are right-wing jokes will not be helpful. Like who is stupid enough to go along with investigating Fauci? That requires a special kind of stupid.

I don't think McCarthy, or anyone else for that matter, is going to be able to herd those cats to do anything. If I was a betting man, I'd bet against impeachment ever reaching the floor. Could still happen, but I doubt it
