Recreational weed to be on Florida ballot in November.

Every trumper is a N4T.
Despite a conservative state supreme court, Ashley Moody, Florida's right-wing AG, could not BS them into disallowing a ballot measure to go forward and be decided by the voters.

Also on the state ballot this November, will be abortion rights vs Florida's draconian 6 week ban, the toughest in the nation.

While neither is a done deal, a significant majority of voters have expressed support for both.

This of course could drive Democrats and moderate Republicans to the polls, where they could make a Trump win here much more difficult.

Time will tell and we will see.

Have any of those pot referendums failed yet?

Have any of those pot referendums failed yet?

I couldn't say, as I have not followed them in other states.

The Florida AG challenged the wording of the amendment last year, with a bogus, desperate claim that it was too vague.

The state's supreme court issued its ruling today, disagreeing with her assertion and ruling that it can move forward and be on the November ballot.

If it gets 60% of the vote, which is the requirement in Florida, it will take another six months before it takes effect.

By next May it would be legal to possess up to three ounces.

The reason why the percentage of voters required to pass any ballot measure is so high to begin with, is because of this very issue.

The Republiclowns who've been running Florida (into the ground) for years, have been using every trick in the book to try to block the will of the people they're supposed to working to serve.

It's truly sickening how these bastards behave.

Just might draw out some extra Biden voters!

Hopefully enough to carry the state along with the abortion bill.

I think its likely Florida finally gets legal marijuana and abortion. Both against DeSantis's wishes. I love Demorcracy.

Weed sales would be massive in FL

TOURISTS would make this new business a massive tax gain

They would be insane to vote it down

Interesting.

I haven't had recreational herbs in Florida since 1987.
The Fontainebleau Hotel had balconies...something you never see in hotels anymore.

Despite the partying, not one person fell off.

I offer this to encourage an OK vote for the weed,
not that I either smoke OR go to Florida anymore.

Tell it to Trump and DeSantis

Yay for recreational pot! Voting for Trump so I can afford it. And I signed a petition to get abortion on the ballot, so we can vote on it and then everyone will shut their pie holes about it.
