Great news.

Reversing recent declines, the percentage of the population that is either working or actively looking for work increased slightly to 62.3 percent in December, up one-tenth of a point from November, and four basis points higher than the 61.9 percent in December 2021.

In its final report for 2022, the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics counted a record 159,244,000 employed Americans in December, an increase of 717,000 from last month's 158,527,000 (revised number); and the number of Americans counted as not in the labor force dropped below the hundred million level to 99,879,000

Its a hangover of making trillions of new dollars......yes we bought some jobs temporarily but the downside will prove catastrophic.

The Fed is trying to hammer the jobs market to deal with inflation but all that they have done to this point is not working, because there has in recent years been so much money pumped in. What we see with this report vs expectations of the experts is:

1) The experts are wrong yet again.

2) THe structural problems with the economy are as bad or worse than the worst of the pessimists have thought.

As the months roll on and new information comes in it looks more and more like what we are in is the beginnings of a depression not a recession. Good news would have been a weakening jobs situation because that would have increased the likelihood that we are in the beginnings of a recession rather than a depression.

Ok, I didn't know that. I'm not an economic expert so thanks for the info. I've been waiting for the other shoe to drop, I don't think good things are in the future because of what has gone on the past few years.

It will, and in spite of all of the CEOs who are publically saying that they see really bad times ahead the country is not being prepared for what is coming. And America is already falling apart. Get ready for chaos...by that I mean think about guns, survival food, living someplace you might be able to protect hopefully with friends and family....that sort of thing.

We are very likely heading into times worse than the civil war.

America waking up is going look a lot like a sleepwalker waking up, and finding out that they are in a burning house.
