True, but I have more confidence in my fellow Americans than the political extremists on either the Left or Right. As stated before, it's not just a matter of the economy, war, sickness, etc, it's a mainly a matter if they believe a "regime change" will improve things or not. I think it will be close, but so far I think Trump still has the edge being "the devil we know" as opposed to the unknown of a Biden administration.

Even though I didn't vote for him, I think Obama was a nice guy even if he was unqualified for the job. He proved that in his first year by putting all of his attention on healthcare and not the economy, something which I believe lengthened the recession. He also accepted a botched version of healthcare rather than veto it and try again. It was a rookie mistake. Even with the current dumbass in the WH, most Americans know his priorities. Even though Trump is a complete idiot, at least he punted to Pence for this crisis. What would happen under a Biden administration is a big unknown. Again, "the devil we know".

Without a significant death tally, we just gutted a great economy—and will kill off who knows how many small businesses, over a seasonal virus that mildly effects the vast majority of the population.

Businesses closing, ppl laid off, no new jobs etc etc etc=blame trump, he was bragging about "his" economy not long ago...... I can still recall the laughter @ the UN like it was yesterday.........:| Maybe they knew something trump didn't..:dunno:

How long do you think this panic will last once the virus has run its natural course? And once the panic is over you don’t think the economy will bounce back? November is seven months away . I guess you better hope this virus lasts that long.

All this virus has done is speed up the crumbling of the economy that has been happening for the last two years since the Russia Tax Cut.

Conservatives are going to blame the virus, but the systemic problems with the economy existed long before the virus. This pandemic is just laying those vulnerabilities bare for all to see.

We were always going to head into a recession thanks to Conservatism; COVID-19 just hastened it.

So the economy would be doing fine with everything shut down if only there were no tax cuts? Ok. Explain that to those countries that had no tax cut.

With competent leadership, there would not have been a shutdown of the economy because competent leadership would have taken this seriously back in December.

The Russia Tax Cut is a cancer, which is an apropos metaphor because the symptoms of cancer are heightened by the virus. So figuratively and literally, the virus is exacerbating pre-existing conditions, both in health care and the economy.

I think by November the economy will have fully recovered, the virus will have proved to be nothing more than another Y2K panic and the voters will realize it was the Demmycrats that caused it all.......if they hadn't already lost it over unpeachment, this would cost the demmycrats the House.......

Just like Bush knew bin Laden would attack us a month before he did.

In both cases, Conservatives didn't take either threat seriously.
