REALLY? ANOTHER racist incident involving an RNC attendee.

The people who made the blog, are you really that mentally crippled? They called it "neat" to see employees that were from the country they represented. How do you think they figured that part out?

maybe there's a big sign hanging at the front of the exhibit?

See? I can engage in wild, baseless speculation too...but will Damo give me a pass?

You've reposted what was on their blog 3 times now, and it really doesn't matter if you post it 100 more, it doesn't change the fact there is nothing "RACIST" about it. It's no more "RACIST" than going to a Chinese restaurant and questioning why your waiter was something other than oriental. It doesn't mean prejudice against whatever they were, just that they weren't what you expected to see in that situation. Now you can say it's petty, anal and unimportant, and insignificant or pointless, but it's not RACIST. That's all I've said about it... I didn't agree with the bloggers, or defend their viewpoint at all, I just said that they weren't being "racist" by pointing out this detail.

Still ducking my question I see...why am I not surprised?

As they get to the United States they ask, "Where are you from?" the guy answers honestly...

So you're saying the woman is a nosy bitch? What right did she have to ask someone that? Why did she ask that particular person?

BECAUSE HE HAD DARK SKIN!

That is racism in it's purest form.

Hell, even the republican party agrees:

The local GOP in Snyder County, Pennsylvania has rushed to disavow Harris’ overtly racist comments. County Commissioner Malcolm Derk told The Daily Item, “Americans are people of any race, color or heritage. Cheers to the individual working at Epcot for showing what a true American looks like.”

If they "get it", why can't you, dicksee, and the Harris's?

That's why Dix won't answer my question...because he believes people with dark skin aren't really Americans.

Here's what a Disney employee ID looks like (this example is from the Anaheim park):

Assuming the Disney employee that "offended" the Republicans wore a similiar badge, maybe that's how they got their "idea".

Note that being born outside the US does not indicate current citizenship...so mayhap the "Mexican" wasn't...well...white enough to "look" American.

I just thought of something...what exactly does the American Pavillion at Epcot consist of?

Before entering the American Adventure theatre, you will see a collection of the flags which have represented the United States during the course of its history. The show is a patriotic look at the concepts America was founded on. Hosted by Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain, the 29-minute show blends Audio-animatronics with images shown on a 72' rear projection screen.

There are 6 statues on each side of the theatre which represent Individualism, Innovation, Tomorrow, Independence, Compassion, Discovery, Freedom, Heritage, Pioneering, Knowledge, Self-Reliance and Adventure.

There are 35 Audio-animatronic figures used in scenes depicting the Pilgrims' arrival at Plymouth Rock, the Boston Tea Party, George Washington at Valley Forge, the writing of the Declaration of Independence, the Civil War, slavery and the invention of the telephone.

Disney's attention to detail is evident in the speeches and broadcasts used. They are often the original text and, where available, the actual recordings.

So who did this so-called Mexican play?

Ben Franklin?????

How about nobody, since it's all animatronic???

Or was this kid a waiter at the restaurant?\

It's a small mind, after all,
It's a small mind, after all -
It's a small, small mind!

Could be...the first is worn by employees. The second pic is an employee ID card. I doubt it's shown to visitors.

Could it be that racist Republicans can't grasp the fact that someone could be born in Mexico and still be an American?

the article said they spoke to him....perhaps they asked where he was from.....

What "article" was that?

Not this one:

Prior to National Republican Convention we visited Disney for three days. During our time at Epcot we visited the different countries. It was neat seeing each country and the employees were from that individual country. Then we visited America . . . one would think you would find American employees. We were offended to find a person from Mexico working in America. Mark spoke up and told them he was highly offended after visiting the other countries and seeing employees from that country and then come to America and find a Mexican. He was very civil but his point was well made.

So you're saying that they asked if he was an American citizen, and he said "no"?

Or are you saying that Disney hires illegal immigrants?

Doesn't matter. If he's a citizen then he's an American.

To be fair, the employee in question may not be a citizen... but if any of the racism-deniers can produce some evidence (beyond "assuming" and saying "may have"), let's see it.
