Real censorship

Fair point. Speech is not absolute and COVID was a unique challenge. My concern is that once the government builds the habit of pressuring companies in the name of safety, it becomes too easy for future leaders to use the same tools for political goals. That is why I think the precedent matters more than the moment.
And if you are concerned with precedents set, here’s a read for you:

I am halfway through this Tucker.....I am reminded that someone on my grapevine the other day said that Tucker is the obvious next target of whomever had Kirk killed.

That's a separate discussion. This was about free speech and gov't censorship.
Just broadening the discussion on precedents, and as the piece implies, presidents can attempt to nullify core constitutional rights not just speech through executive orders by redefining what they want as emergency situations

There is real cognitive dissonance happening on both sides right now - been that way for a few years. Really, since the Big Lie about the 2020 election.

Both sides are so dug in that they only see things like censorship & hateful rhetoric on ONE side - the other.

They can't see or acknowledge the same on the side they associate with.

It's quite a phenomenon.

What was the big lie about the 2020 election?

C'mon. We're getting along lately. Let's not ruin it.
OK. Probably left for another thread, but as facts come out, it gets more interesting.

That said,
You are correct, I have gained a lot of respect for your admissions about getting along with the other party. I feel the same.
Expect more flying memes, but take them with a grain of salt.
