Socialism will never take over the US...but I sure hope we borrow extensively from it in order to bring our capitalism under control.

Frankly, I would have no problem with the government competing with private enterprise on many things...including healthcare...and healthcare insurance. I think the federal government would do a shitload better, less expensive, better benefits program than private enterprise.

I am, as I said, a capitalist at heart...but socialism does not scare me anywhere near as much as it seems to scare American conservatives.

There was a day when it was in our DNA that women were inferior beings...and that decision-making jobs should be left to men. There was a lot more of that in our DNA than this socialism thingy.

There was a day when it was in our DNA that non-landowners were inferior beings...and that only landowners should make decisions about who will lead the country. There was a lot more of that in our DNA than this socialism thingy.

There was a day when it was in our DNA that non-whites were inferior beings...and that only whites could be free citizens and people of dignity...making decisions about what was going to prevail in this nation. There was a lot more of that in our DNA than this socialism thingy.

Things change, Earl. The question now is NOT whether more ideas derived from socialism will be used to tweak and improve our economic system...but rather WHEN AND AT WHAT PACE will it occur.

And even more importantly, whether it will happen as a result of peaceful, intelligent movement toward it...or the way things were handled in France during the late 18th century and Russia during the early 20th.

I don’t believe that women were considered inferior, just that women had a role to play. They were nurturers and men were providers. It worked beautifully for centuries until the left convinced women that it was beneath them to be nurturers.

No, Socialism will not creep into this government. From the poll that I posted, Americans do not approve of Socialism. Young people love the concept that everything is free but they soon grow up and think differently when the bills come due.

The “peculiar institution” has been corrected. Great nations correct course from time to time.

There will be no violent revolution to install Socialism. The left have few guns, Frank, and not nearly enough.

The left, with their safe rooms and hot chocolate and tissues and micro-aggressions are a bunch of pansies.

We can easily get every goddam job that has gone "global"...back to the United States with no trouble at all. No trouble doing that whatsoever. All we've got to do is to get the lazy American workers to do those jobs at a comparable rate with the workers in countries where we have outsourced. If Americans would just work for 75 cents an hour...the jobs would be back here tomorrow. The entrepreneurs sending the stuff overseas to get done are not traitors. They are patriots. They would gladly bring the work back here if American workers were reasonable.

The problem is that the lazy, greedy bastards want to earn enough to eat and have shelter from the weather.

That is the problem...GREED AND LAZINESS among the masses.
