"Rape Rape"

Thankfully you don't know anybody here personally, except your alter ego.

Yesterday Free tried to get me lynched on the board for "lying". And all he managed to do was call attention to something Damo did that I doubt Damo wanted called to anyone's attention.

I guess they received their orders. :)

Somebody has lots of 'splaining to do.

Whoopi Goldberg caused a lot of controversy when she said that Roman Polanski’s rape of a 13 year old girl wasn’t “rape rape”. This kind of language is informed by historic attitudes about rape; it has to happen in a dark alley, by a stranger, with a knife, and you should be badly beaten to show you resisted.

For years, women were not allowed to make the choice to not resist the rape in order to save their lives or avoid a brutal beating. If they did, it wasn’t “forcible rape”. But I think that this 1929 definition of rape that the FBI was still using until this week, really shows how the Patriarchy hurts men too:

“the carnal knowledge of a female, forcibly and against her will”

Men are raped. This definition completely excludes them.

Anyway, no one here will care much, but this is a big win. And what amazes me, and should stun anyone, is that until this week, the FBI was using a definition for rape that had not changed since 1929. In 1929 a man could not rape his wife. Think about all of the other things women were subjected to in 1929. Then think about the FBI not updating their definition or views, until this week.

"The “Rape is Rape” campaign, demanding that all rapes be counted in the FBI’s annual Uniform Crime Report (UCR), took a huge step forward yesterday at a crucial meeting of law enforcement officials.

The Uniform Crime Report Subcommittee of the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) voted unanimously to expand its definition of rape in the UCR. The vote came after many years of lobbying by groups such as the Women’s Law Project and the recent viral “Rape is Rape” campaign, started by the Feminist Majority Foundation and Ms. in partnership with Change.org–which resulted in nearly 140,000 emails to the FBI and the Department of Justice urging the change.

The previous definition (unchanged since 1929) defined “forcible rape” as “the carnal knowledge of a female, forcibly and against her will,” excluding victims of forced anal or oral sex, rape with an object, statutory rape and male rape.

The new definition–of “rape,” no longer “forcible rape”–defines the crime as “penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.” The FBI would maintain data on “forcible rape” only for research and comparison.

I'm a little confused here Darla....is this only about the 'reporting and counting of rape crimes' by the FBI ?.....

I'm positive the crime itself has been defined as “penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.” because we've been reading about these crimes against women and children for quite some time already.... and as far as I knew it was referred to as rape.....

For many years, we heard of men 'raping' male children and being convicted of rape for the crime. Obviously this was not 'carnal knowledge'

Nevertheless, its about time the archaic, outdated neanderthal definitions of old were put to rest......and this could be said about thousands of taxes, laws and regulations on the books that are no longer applicable....

I was embarassed for Whoopi when she made that comment. It was surreal how some in the Hollywood community rallied around Polanski.

Typical "liberals can do no wrong' attitude" and the infamous 'double standard'.......

Old men too.

What a dumb fucking response you fucking moron.

Whoopie's not so understanding when it comes to strong conservative women though. On Sarah Palin: "This girl is dangerous to me. This is a very dangerous woman, because I believe for her intents and purposes, she’s OK if everybody lives a certain way, that is to say, the way God ordained men and women to be. Well, already she’s breaking that because she’s the daddy. She’s going to run the country and the husband is going to take care of the kids. I just found the whole thing sad and very musty and very much like a Bund rally, but maybe that was just me."

Thats such a pathetic load from Whoopie, but not surprising at all....its the typical idiot rationalization and character assassination the left is so good at, and with the msm at their backs, they've seen a high success rate bashing and trashing good people with nothing but lunatic accusations. Palin, Gingrich, Bush, Bachmann and so many other good patriots have been victims.....

LOL It takes a special kind of hackery to turn a thread about how the FBI classifies sex crimes into yet another "POORRRRR SAR-AHHHHH" tea party. Love it.

It wasn't about Palin or the Tea Party, idiot....it was another example of a quote by Whoopie demonstrating her perspective....like the " it really wasn't "rape, rape'...defending Polanski.....try to keep up...the thread will evolve as all threads do.....

This is why you're a skank and a pig, because the post was about Whoopies double-standard, which you obviously have no problem with.

You literally add nothing to the board. *shrug*

And you & bravs are really stretching to politicize, and make this a "liberals protect their own" thing. It's like you're bots who repeat the same shite no matter what the topic. *shrug*

I'm sorry what were you saying dumbyankee? Every time I see what's written underneath your name, it reminds me of how Loyal was perma-banned and I start laughing. Sometimes I remember some of the reactions to it, and it takes me a good ten minutes to stop. :)

A moron like must agree with Whoopie's "rape, rape" statement then.....I wonder if Christiefan and Darla agree with you...?

Did you even read the first few sentences of the OP? Nobody here defended Whoopi's statement, and it takes a special kind of cluelessness for you to spin it otherwise.

I'm sure whenever your belly gets into motion it takes at least ten minutes for it to stop.

Loyal was perm-banned for the same reason that your fellow slut Christie was not perm banned. Are you so dim you can't remember that? :)

The gist of the thread was about the FBI, not Whoopi. But don't let the facts stop you from bashing a liberal woman.

"I was embarassed for Whoopi when she made that comment. It was surreal how some in the Hollywood community rallied around Polanski."

Are you changing your mind now....or are you too, not keeping up?
