You stated that Rangel got something "...you or I (or war hero, Duke Cunningham) wouldn't get....tax evasion=jail...except for Democrats."

You threw in the war hero bit to make it seem like Cunningham got the shaft in his sentencing, hinting that the judge should have gone easier on a "war hero". Well, the judge did go easier. He sentenced him to eight instead of ten years.

Duke may have been a war hero but he's also a gay-bashing, corrupt hothead with a fast mouth and a slow brain. No wonder you like him.

"A judge rejected Randall "Duke" Cunningham's tearful bid for mercy today and sentenced the war hero, "Top Gun" instructor and disgraced former congressman to 8 years, 4 months in federal prison for bribery.

Looking thin and haggard, Cunningham, with head downcast, listened as US District Judge Larry A. Burns imposed the sentence.

"You've undermined the opportunity [that] honest politicians have to do good," Burns said.

Burns ordered Cunningham to pay $1.8 million in restitution and refused his request for a week to say goodbye to his family. Cunningham was led from the courtroom by US marshals.

Burns said the only reason he didn't give Cunningham 10 years was because of his military service during the Vietnam War."

I can't speak for Bravo (and not that what I have to say is important) but I think he was saying you, I or Cunningham would go or did go to jail for tax evasion while Rangel didn't. The point of saying Cunningham was a war hero was even with that honor/distinction it didn't keep him out of prison.
