Rand Paul's son's sense of entitlement?

I have been around a long time, and I have met a lot of people. All kinds of people, from all walks of life, all stations in life, all kinds of backgrounds and demographics.

Most of the "entitled" people I've met are rich. But the majority have been the sons and daughters of rich people.

Entitled to possess anything they want
Entitled to do whatever they want
Entitled to say whatever they want
Entitled to the deference and obedience of everyone around them

The grandson of former presidential candidate Ron Paul and son of U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., is charged with assaulting a flight attendant during a U.S. Airways flight from Lexington, Ky., to Charlotte last weekend.

William Paul, 19, was arrested Jan. 5 at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport after his flight landed. The Bowling Green, Ky., resident, also was charged with consuming beer/wine underage, disorderly conduct and being intoxicated and disruptive.

Initial news reports last week did not cite the assault charge, but it is unclear why that charge was not reported at the time.

The misdemeanor assault on a female by aggressive physical force charge was confirmed by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Saturday.

this is nothing new, there has been a long history of the elites thinking they are better than the rest of us. surely you don't think this phenomenon is confined to just one party do you?

A 19 year old kid gets drunk and acts like a fvcking idiot equal sense of entitlement? While it's definitely possible this kid feels he's entitled one doesn't have to have that attitude to be a young drunk idiot.

Is the goal here to find all children of politicians who have acted out in life and post ITT?

No it's not. But only one party is calling people who receive public assistance moochers and having a sense of entitlement. It is very rare for someone who needs help to be anything but humble and appreciative.

not following the connection you are trying to make

Try READING before you emote.

Hmmm, ok. 1) I did read what you posted. 2) I "emoted" nothing, I simply asked a question how you came to the conclusion you did as there was nothing in the reading that referenced it. Maybe you are "emoting" because you made a sorry partisan effort to call out a politician you don't like and got called on it.

What does this story have to do with public assistance? A 19 year old got drunk and acted like a drunk 19 year old douche bag. You somehow want to tie this to entitlement programs?

Let me recap for you...

I do feel sorry for politicians children because their youthful rebellion is under a microscope. They should know that their lives are judged and people hold them toa higher standard, but face it, 19 year olds make a lot of mistakes and don't think of the consequences or, this could be a cry or attention! Maybe, dad as been spending too much time at being a politician and not enough time being a dad.

You can be a great father but that's no guarantee your kid isn't going to do something stupid.

Yeah, but this is pretty stupid. I see it as a cry for help. I was pretty rebellious, I never would have thought of drinking and getting on an airplane, too risky.

Re-read what he wrote. He's trying to tie this kid being a drunk idiot to attitudes towards entitlement programs.

Okay, you read it the way you wish, I am not getting into another argument on interpretations with you.

I think he is saying that Rand's kid is a spoiled brat who feels entitled and Rand and others should not talk of entitlement values when their kids are takers and spoiled.

I've seen plenty of people (myself included) get wasted on airline flights. I've never seen anyone push a flight attendent like this kid did. I have no idea if he did it because he thought he was above the law because of his father or he was just a stupid 19 year old who didn't know how to handle his liquor.

You should do the research, and find all the politicians loved ones who have done criminal acts, and post them.

You'll quickly learn that politicians and their families don't live by the same laws as we do.

Bush and his brother were caught with a bunch of cocain and got off.

You spout off a lot of nonsense, then provide anecdotal evidence, then try to tie that in with your perception of a party's views on entitlement programs, then when questioned by numerous people as to how you jumped to your magical conclusion... you simply spout the original nonsense again as if that explains it?
