I love the pretense that you aren't on any "team." It cracks me up every time you do it. You're a Republican. I don't know why you're ashamed of it.
Interesting. So, when I point out, in another thread yesterday, that Dixie and others often do "team politics" (I used Kerry as an example, more specifically "voted for it, before I voted against it") I am somehow "defending the status quo"?And these games you play where you don't actually engage on the issue under discussion are just your method of defending he status quo that benefits the interests of Team Republican. It's fairly transparent.
Raising minimum wage hurts those liberals claim to help.
I'm not, but I don't dehumanize democrats with stupid bumptersticker nonsense.

The reality is, only one of us pretends that the other "team" is somehow dehumanized to a level where even the stupidest bumpersticker ("They want dirty air!") makes sense to them.. and it isn't me.
While you do have a talent for almost sounding like you think when you post this kind of stuff, you give it away when you say dumb stuff like sentences that end with "they hate poor people". It is team politics, and at the basest and least thought provoking level. It's like the bad pun of politics. For some people it seems to be bread and butter, but when people who pay attention are your audience... it's just sad.
I know you already know the arguments but I'll put one of them out there anyway. To me, if an individual is already hired at minimum wage and the minimum wage is raised and they keep their job that is a benefit to them. They will make more money for doing the same work. The question, as you know, is what does that do to the big picture? Does the owner of the business hire less workers? There is obviously an economic effect otherwise the government would just arbitrarily raise the MW to $15 or $20.
You say it's a matter of not liking poor peolpe but a large number of minimum wage workers are part-time workers and teenagers (often one and the same). I thought all people hated teenagers?
Here's one:

And really, I don't get the opposition to raising the minimum wage. People hate that poor people don't pay taxes and they hate that poor people get government benefits and they also hate that the government requires private employers to pay poor people a little more. I'm beginning to wonder if they don't just hate poor people.

LOL. Your refusal to engage on what I actually said and the substance of my post is really quite telling. You play the game of deflection quite well.
Okay, what you said. "Damo, you are just like me. LOL, why don't you admit you are a republican!"
So I engaged, "Yeah, I am a republican. No, I'm not like you." gave examples, direct ones, and noted that I'll continue to point out the absurdity of professional moron-level team politics that actually make people who believe they are intelligent think the other guys really want to "make grandma eat dog food". And I will.
What is telling is your continued attempt to point in other directions, the problem is nothing is there. Not even something shiny that might distract the low-information voter away from the actual conversation.
I will say it again, anybody who brings this level of team-politics to a board like this where people pay attention is and always will be a kool-ade drinking bathtub sipping fool.
You write "if an individual is already hired at minimum wage and the minimum wage is raised and they keep their job that is a benefit to them. They will make more money for doing the same work." That's true of any job, not just minimum wage jobs. Didn't you ever get merit raises? It doesn't necessarily mean your amount of work is changing, just that you performed your duties adequately or better.
You have just arbitrarily increased the owners costs without a commensurrate increase in productivity. It is basic economics. A persons monetary worth to an employer is directly proportional to the ability of the employer to replace that labor. If you have marketable skills that aren't easily replaced, you will be paid accordingly. If you do not, you won't. It isn't hard.
IMO having a minimum wage subject to change helps keep employers honest because we all know they'd try to get blood out of a turnip if there were no regulations re: pay. No regulations means we go back to the sweatshops.
Nothing like a little fear based arguments
In short, the issue to me isn't whether Republicans hate poor people, or want dirty air, or want women to be abused (or any of the parade of horribles that you want to pretend I've said).
I'm not a mind reader. I can't see into Paul Ryan's soul. I can only judge their actions. Their actions reveal an unwillingness to do things to benefit poor people, to prevent the air from being further polluted, to ensure that victims of domestic violence receive justice and support, and cetera.
Groomers of the poor, hate poor people. That would be Leftists, Liberals, Socialists, Communists, most Democrats, and any other non-conservative based organization. Here's one:

OK, so if I use your logic, I must conclude the same thing. You and your ilk have supported a minimum wage for years yet people are still poor. For example, Commiefornistan is run 100% by democrats. Why isn't the minimum wage $20/hour in Commiefornistan? Why?
Judging by your actions, you must hate the poor
What actions of mine are you judging me by again?
Your left wing buddies have incubators in which to hatch all of your left wing wet dreams. For example there is nothing stopping you left wingers from imposing a $30/hour minimum wage in California. Why don't you? California is run by left wingers. Do they hate the poor?
I see you don't like your logic reversed on you. Typical.
LOL.
Sorry I took a shit on your bullshit thread.
