Raise The Minimum Wage!

Yes, yes dixie everything causes inflation, including your daily bloviating.

Now please, please show how the burden of an increased minimum wage has damaged the economy in the past.

Can you read? has damaged . Show the DAMAGE please.

Not tell me about it, show me the proof.

INFLATION = DAMAGE.

What kind of proof do you need of that?

Until you can grasp some basic understanding of economics, there is nothing I can really show you.

Raising the MW pretty much effects blue collar wages across the board, for the reasons I explained earlier... you know, before you flooded the board with two days of personal insults and buried the post? But to re-establish the point; When Joe gets his MW raised by $.50, then Jim, who only makes $.50 more than Joe, is going to expect and demand an increase too. And this 'ripple effect' goes all the way up the chain. Because of this, all the various business formulas and calculations are re-adjusted, and ultimately, the end result is, the consumer pays for the increased wage in the price of the good or service. It HAS to be like this, because we do not have magical money trees! The money HAS to come from somewhere else! I know that is a difficult thing for you to comprehend, but it's true!

There are levels of inflation dixe. Most levels do not qualify as damage. All the rest of your words are simply regurgitating your previous posts. You clearly have no proof that the danger of raising the minimum wage outweighs the damage being caused by not raising it.

LOL... ANY level of inflation is not GOOD for an economy. Can you offer some proof otherwise, professor???

Sure nutbag. Mild inflation over enough time is likely the only means by which we will ever pay down the national debt.

You think mild inflation is bad, try deflation for a while, moron.

Well see, that's our problem here, Rune... you demand proof, and we give you proof, and then you claim we are regurgitating our talking points.

There is no talking point here. There are only facts of economic principles, from my standpoint, and you've not refuted those.

We don't have magic money trees... so whenever we increase the MW, and all the people up the blue collar chain get their increase, and the corporate geeks recalculate their formulas and update their margins and projections, the end result is inflation. ALL inflation is BAD for the economy... Inflation is like Economy's kryptonite. It's NEVER good for an economy, and is very often the trigger for even greater calamity, if the economy is fragile... which it currently IS.

Now, I do need to add a caveat to this... there are certain products and services in very competitive markets, who can't simply bump their prices up to compensate for the increase, and in their case, the end result is NOT inflationary price... that's good, but the bad thing is... we don't have magic money trees! The money has to come from someplace... and in their case, it comes from downsizing and eliminating jobs. Again, the OPPOSITE of what we need to be trying to do.

Retarded on so many levels, I don't know where to start.

You are trying to make a straw man and failing. The FACT that inflation is bad for an economy, does not mean that deflation is good. No one claimed this, you just threw this together in your straw-machine and spat it out at us, like it made some kind of logical sense to you. Illustrating just how totally ignorant you are of economics.

This "mild inflation over time" shit, is a load of Marxist crap you've swallowed, and you need to purge it from your system. What Marxists want to do, is destroy the value of the dollar, collapse it completely, so that "a dollar" is essentially worthless... THEN pay off our $15 trillion "dollar" debt, with worthless money. This is like a cancer patient inserting themselves in a giant microwave, to cure their cancer. First of all, it won't work, and second... it will DESTROY us!

Yeah, the whole country would be better off if we'd simply ignore what 99% of economics tell us, and instead listen to some redneck from Alabama. We should also stop teaching evolution in the classroom and instruct people to meditate for 90 days, and start dumping more CO2 into the atmosphere because it'll be good for plant life.

Well, 100% of the economists I've ever known, will admit that inflation is not good for an economy.

The rest of your rant has nothing to do with the thread topic, and I don't feel like being baited, so.... SORRY CHARLIE!

You forgot about how if there was truly climate change, the ocean currents would all instantly reverse, humans would all freeze to death, so there is no point worrying about anything.

Well, you haven't met many economists, then. Every reputable economist will tell you that a little inflation (2 - 3% annually) is a good thing.

What do you wish to discuss Dung? Rune is obvously intent on wallowing in his ignorance. How about you enlighten us with your grand knowledge on economics?

I didn't really want to discuss anything. I simply made an observation. I assumed you were tiptoeing away from Dixie's stupidity and thought it was funny. That's it.

No they don't. They tell you that it is an 'acceptable' thing in a robust economy, because it is a side-effect of economic prosperity occurring. It is NEVER a "good" thing for an economy. It is always a "detrimental" thing to the economy.... the question of acceptability or degree, is a different argument.

What's the matter, can't take what you dish out? Oldest Alinsky tactic in the book, pick an unreasonable standard and hold your opponent to it while you don't have to.

I apologized to christie because after re reading the thread, I thought I was a bit harsh, not because you or anyone else had anything to say about it...Darla on the other hand wanted to bring in the ever so snarky 'teabagger' tag like a 6th grader that snickers, knowing the meaning of the phrase, so since she introduced it, she should be prepared to take the heat from using it. And I couldn't care any less what some message board liberal hack thinks of it either....Are we clear?
