So the price of food only goes up when the minimum wage goes up?

No, but it won't help to raise the cost of doing business in these times either. Business already has huge uncertainty due to the recent SCOTUS decision on health care, and the regulations coming down the pike....

Do ya think it might be possible to get some people some jobs before we start complaining what the pay is?

So...since they're already fucked, might as well do nothing to help the minimum wage earners, then? That's your position?

There is something to be said for countries such as Denmark. They enjoy many of the same freedoms and the same level of prosperity that we enjoy and are the happiest people in the world. They are also taxed at a high rate, have a minimum wage equivalent to $38,000/year US, and have very good income equality.

It is very easy to start and run a business in Denmark; they are among Europe's most free economies. Yet, they also manage to provide a great standard of living for everyone.

Does Denmark contradict conservative ideology, or is it simply too different from the US to compare?

We all have to start somewhere. Minimum wage jobs were never meant to be family support type of jobs. They usually were jobs for teens, and new comers to the work force to get them used to the fundamentals of working. My suggestion to those unhappy with their current jobs, are to further their skills, or education so that they can move out of minimum wage.

Denmark is not comparable to the US as far as systems go. Much different metrics when you are talking the sheer size of the US population v. Denmark.

how the fuck did you arrive at that ? talk about stupid. Raising taxes will also raise the costs so no, it's not only when idiots pay unskilled workers more than they producing

Not only will it increase the cost of food and other products, it won't help the problem, or it won't be enough... it never is with liberals.

For those of you 'moderates' out there, who might be considering siding with this idiot, think about it... the last time we raised the minimum wage, did it fix whatever was the problem? How about the time before that? Or the time before that? In fact, has ANY liberal program EVER fixed the problem? Or is it always an ever-elusive UTOPIA on the horizon, if we can just dump the trillions of dollars into it fast enough?

Why do conservatives hate poor people?

not by much but since you pointed it out, how much will it raise the price of milk?

Probably just enough so that profit margins remain the same. I mean, it's not like the owners are going to voluntarily take a pay cut. But in the same vein you'll effectively be paying managers and higher echelon people less, because their dollar will not have the purchasing power is once did, and they didn't get a pay raise.

gee, corporations are making record profits and are sitting on a huge cash reserve so they are complaining about how much they pay people but not their uppermost management
