Raise the age to 21

Anything short of banning the weapon is useless, always get it on the Internet, and if that door was locked the shooter would have just found entrance
They already did a Assault rifle ban once and it did not work. The only effective way to protect schools is to harden the target.

Raise the age might have bought these kids 4 years, and given the community 4 more years to do something about this kid.
But you are correct, raising the age would do little, we need to ban assault rifles like we banned machine guns.
Machine guns are not banned.

So.. you really think the asshole would have gone through with it at 21? C'mon. At 14 I wanted to be a fireman. Kids always stick with the goals they make at age 14. <--- you really don't know how ridiculous you're being.
He could have met a nice girl by age 21.

Yeah well, it needs to go back to the way it was. Countless lives could be saved and people with problems could have a nice, safe place to live and not just be thrown in with criminals.

They'd actually get help from someone that knows their situation.

They could have Tapioca pudding in the afternoon and watch a movie vs. Standing on a street corner needing a bath and starving and screaming at passersby.

The America I grew up in had that. We didn't treat people with mental problems as poorly as is done now.

Cant afford it, due to Trump tax cuts.

There is no ban on machine guns in this country Jarod. At all.

Taxes were higher then and we could afford it.

He said he would shoot up a school when he turned 18...he did

I agree

But this school shooter would have just waited till he was 21

Maybe. Or maybe he'd have come to his senses... gotten on some meds that helped, or gotten some counseling, or just dealt with his demons. Or maybe, before then, he'd have gotten in trouble with the law and lost the ability to legally purchase firearms. Or maybe he'd have cracked in some other way and killed himself rather than a bunch of kids. That's a long time.

But a locked steal door would have!

That's far from clear. For example, in the Sandy Hook attack, the school had security protocols that locked the doors after morning arrivals. Adam Lanza showed up and shot through the glass panel next to the locked front entrance doors and let himself in. 28 people wound up dead.

If you want to know what could make a difference, just look at a similar elementary school attack carried out the very same morning as Sandy Hook, in another country. The door to that school wasn't locked. But it's hard to get your hands on guns in that country, so the attacker went with a knife, instead. He tried to kill as many little kids as he could, but wound up being subdued before he'd managed to cause any lethal wounds. All those kids survived the attack.

He made the threat to shoot up a school at the age of 14...so he waited 4 years

This law would have not stopped this shooting

But a locked steal door would have!

The age 21 law is useless

And ban the A-15 too!

Mina, tomorrow, someone's going to get shot though an outhouse door and the gun nuts are going to start screaming:

HARDEN THE PORTA POTTIES!!!

Maybe! Maybe, also, like all kids, they begin to make friends, forget about what they were angry about and move on. Those 2 years could save a lot of lives.
18 to 19 to 20 to 21 is....wait for it .... wait for it.... 3 years. But you are correct a lot can change in 3 years.

Of course. How else do I add up all my monies.

And also I owe you an apology. Texas is tied for 2nd with FL for mass shootings. WA comes in next with about half of those two. So I guess we'd better get to work here too. On the laws.
