Racist? - “bow-tying white boy”

Get a grip you clown......you're getting carried away with this apoligizing for everything a Democrat does ........

The women made a racist remark, pure and simple.....just like she intended....

But you just said Megyn Kelly WASN'T being racist when she joked about greeting Warren with "how"...make up your mind.

Please. Better that Greene said it, instead of me. I haven't been able to stomach Tucker Carlson since Crossfire.

He's one of those guys on the right who I actually like. He's principled, and doesn't carry water for the GOP like other talking heads of his ilk. He's goofy, but not in a way that bothers me or anything...

Ahhhh....don't fight......its the first time you two assholes actually agree on something ...... its just so funny that you both wrong anyway......

That skinny black boy in the White House wouldn't be offended....

Can we call Michele, big black momma.....she big, shes black and shes a mom.....

Racist. Bigot. And don't fight the obvious and apropos labels.

It's very recent history. Like I said, there are still plenty of people alive from that era.

Your deaf ear on this topic always astounds.

so you consider 60+ years ago to be recent. lol. sure thing onceler. keep living in the past if that makes you feel better.

btw...i'm not deaf on the topic. your continual...well it happened in the past...thus it still must be true today....shows how ignorant you are on the topic.

No more racist than a white actor appearing in blackface...

Do some research on the origin of the Native American word "hau".

a white actor appearing in blackface ? How is that racist in 2012 ?....

I guess I shouldn't greet any Hispanic friends with "ola".....they might be pinheads and think its racist

I'm not saying it's "true" today - just that it's okay to have sensitivity to it, because it's recent. And I have to question your math. There was overt hate and lynchings throughout the 60's - a mere 40+ years ago, not 60. And yeah - that's recent; there are a LOT of people still alive from that era, if you're not aware.

I don't think you understand what these kinds of terms & words mean to the generation of blacks that grew up & were alive during that time. They are symbolic reminders of the violence & fear that their parents & grandparents had to live through (or die through, in some cases). To me, it's just sensitivity to understand what those words mean, and not use them casually as a result. I also don't go up to overweight people and say "you sure are fat."

That's what I mean by deaf ear.

Thats what I was looking for......the first demonstration of the "double standard".....and it comes from our own resident black racist....

The white guy can be called a "bow-tie white boy".....but the black guy can't be called a "skinny black boy"....

and that about sums up how far we've come in the last 60 years......

Truly bravo, you epitomize the statement "There are none so blind as those who will not see."

btw...it's spelled "hola". The "h" is silent...but then, I don't expect racists to care much about accuracy.

I'm probably in the minority on this but I find the bow tying white boy comment pretty funny.

The double standard was first and best employed by white folks, via "white privilege", and has been going on since America's founding.

A white guy can be called "a bow tie white boy", when his stupid, no-style dressing ass, wears a bow tie, day in and day out, looking like a damn fool.
Anyone addressing the President of the United States thusly, in my opinion, ought to be viewed as "threatening" the president and arrested and the key thrown away, for disrespecting the office.
Now, I challenge you to walk up to any strapping, buff black man, and address him as "boy". We'll never hear from you again. And I'll be glad.

Am I reading this right anyone who wears a bow tie and talks about the President should be thrown in jail?

Do some research on the origin of the Native American word "hau".

The origin of using "how" as a greeting is "one of those rare bits of frontier rubbish that actually has some basis in fact. There is no such thing as a universal Indian greeting — the original inhabitants of North America spoke some 500 different languages — but we do find variants of "how" in the native speech of many Plains Indians tribes, who spoke versions of a major language called Siouan. The Tetons said "howo" and "ho," the Dakota had "hao" and "ho," and the Omaha had "hau" (and maybe "ho" too, but I didn't find it in my Omaha dictionary.)

The precise meaning of these words varies with the ethnographer who recorded them, but from my reading of various ancient Native American tales (rendered in the original, of course) I deduce that they served as a sort of all-purpose introductory adverb or interjection along the lines of "well," "hey," "so," or "now," as in, "Now see here, white-eyes …" You can imagine how ignorant pioneers who heard this at the beginning of every Indian soliloquy might come to regard it as a greeting. At any rate, the word eventually found its way into the public consciousness."

Uh, most of the time. Wasn't that the right that thought anyone against the Iraq or Afghanistan wars were "un-American", and unpatriotic, and proceeded to demonize anyone who opposed it? The Patriot Act, and the subsequent abuse of it, which led to the illegal wiretapping of innocent Americans, was high crime, in my estimation.

What do wars and the patriot act have to do with people who wear bow ties?

You replied,

You mis-characterized what I posted, so I corrected you....."THE WOMEN" I was talking about was obviously not Kelly.....
