It appears, at least from threads on this forum, that the new label that certain people want to give people, is racism.

If you think Zimmerman might be innocent; it's because you're a racist and nothing else.
If you think Affirmitive Action is outdated; it's because you're a racist and nothing else.
If you think welfare should be a hand up and not a hand out; it's because you're a racist and nothing else.
If you dare to disagree with any of our resident Black posters; it's because you're a racist and nothing else.
If you think that abortions should not be a form of birth control; it's because you're a racist and nothing else.
If you dare to suggest that a liberal is a racist; it's because you're a racist and nothing else.
If you try to defend yourself and say you're not a racist; it's because you're a racist and nothing else.

The word "racist" as generally meant is someone who treats someone different because of their apparent race. Yes, our genes are all alike, we're all the same species - but people treat those of different skin color differently, and that's what we mean by racist. Look at Mali, where the lighter-skinned residents and the darker-skinned residents are leery of each other. It's not just the US.

However, there are many of us who understand that people of different colors are perceived as different races; that doesn't make us racist.
