Absent government or corporate bullying....why or why not? We all I hope understand that this has never been done before, we dont know what the long term effects will be, if any, this is an experiment, we are the guinea pigs.

Bret and Heather talked about it today. They are seriously worried about getting thrown off YouTube for doing so.

I have not made up my mind, though I rarely leave my oasis these days, and my wife who is also high risk has decided that she will.

I think the much greater concern is tracking after the fact if the vaccine is made mandatory.

Say goodbye to the last vestige of personal privacy as your every move is monitored...

We're all but China now, and tracking would be the last nail.

The approach of this thread is "What would a Free Man do?".

I'd like to first get an antibody test before making that decision.

That seems like such a good idea that I would like to know why I dont hear that this is part of the program.

Kinda makes me think that the program is not well thought out.

no sane reason not to

Well, the antibody tests were rolled out a while ago.

But honestly, I don't know a whole lot about them, Hawk

Right, but I know of no organized program to offer the test to people and then let them avoid the vaccine and thus avoid what ever risk this vaccine carries, and I wonder why.

This seems like something that would be done for sure, but seems to be not being done, which I consider to be a red flag about the entire vaccine program.

well the antibodies disappear after a few month/weeks/whatever. So the government line is
EVERYONE GET THE SHOT

In truth memory (m) T-cells probably protect you (create the antibodies) from the pathogen if reinfected

Whatever is right....but if a person does have anti-bodies then they almost certainly should not be taking the vaccine.

I was reading an argument that giving this vaccine to all front line medical people first is actually a terrible idea, that we should test it out on the very old first to get some more visibility on how dangerous this is....if the worst happens and all of our medical people took it then we will be really fucked.

Not everyone needs to take the shot to get us to the 70% herd immunity number.

So, there’s definitely an argument for ‘sitting it out’ and letting the 70% roll the dice on the vaccine. IOW, be a 30 per center lol.

I go back and forth with it but I’ll probably take it. I’m skeptical that a government mandate would get by a SCOTUS challenge now that there’s a conservative majority.

Test it on death row inmates

I think SCOTUS would approve it but the fact that a vaccine is needed to get the economy operational because of the unconstitutional and not well thought through lockdowns and closing of businesses through a certain prism looks so diabolical as to wonder if it was intentional.

Bus Drivers to UTOPIA always tend towards brutality.

Yes. I'll be okay with it. My microbiology prof was one of the real human guinea pigs who volunteered. It was a double-blind study, meaning neither the administers of the vaccine or the volunteers knew whether they were getting an active dose or not. They won't be told till later. He knows that he got the real thing based on his reaction/symptoms, plus his experience as test volunteer for other trials. He got the 2nd dose as well. He is my age -- mid-60s. During the course I took with him he taught about some vaccine fails and even current ones that he wouldn't take or recommend. BTW, as well as being a microbio prof, he was in charge of the microbiology/infection control lab at one of St. Louis's leading children's hospitals.

I trust this guy. I'll get the vaccine... but only after our people in the line of fire are protected first.

The concern I have, is that the private sector will implement a vaccine mandate. Such as airlines denying service to the unvaccinated.
