No, Zimmerman did because he thought he could take Martin on his own, but quickly found out that he couldn't because like you fascists on JPP, he wildly overestimated his own skills.
So Zimmerman, very cowardly, used his gun because he didn't have the physical strength to match Martin after picking the fight.
