How did you get the above from my comment? Desh blamed SCOTUS for ending it. It ended on its own, the final decision not to EXTEND it was by an Obama appointed judge. The point is, it wasn't a conservative appointed judge that ended it. So it doesn't make sense for her to say the Judge was trying to help Republicans cheat. This decree being over simply means that Reps can contest elections again and can look at potential voter fraud.

No. Desh said SCOTUS ended it to allow Republicans to cheat. I corrected her on two points: First, it ended on its own, it simply was not extended. Second, it was an Obama appointed judge that did not allow it to be extended. That isn't blaming Obama or the judge. As far as I can tell the judge made the correct call. The point is that Desh was wrong about who made the final call.

I'm not sure "blamed" is the right word to use here because it implies that throwing out that consent decree was negative. It's not. It's a positive thing because Republicans have been cheating in elections for a while and now Democrats can contest them.

Like what happened just 6 months ago in North Carolina's 9th Congressional District.

I think you might want to read the decree. The decree limited what the Republicans could do. It did not limit Democrats ability to contest. That is why she is pissed. The Reps had to get court approval for a lot of contesting issues (note: not all). The democrats were not limited.

The submission, a letter Thursday from ACLU attorney Dale Ho, who argued the case before the court last month, comes as the justices have been deliberating on the case and expected to hand down their decision within weeks.
"The new evidence reveals that Dr. Thomas Hofeller, a longtime redistricting specialist, played a significant role in orchestrating the addition of the citizenship question to the 2020 Decennial Census in order to create a structural electoral advantage for, in his own words, 'Republicans and non-Hispanic whites,'" Ho writes.
"Petitioners [the Commerce Department] obscured his role through affirmative misrepresentations," he said.

The evidence could call into question the administration's claims that the citizenship question was specifically requested by the Justice Department to aid enforcement of the Voting Rights Act. Government officials have denied allegations of bald politics or racial discrimination as true motives.
News of Hofeller's role was first reported by the New York Times.
Hofeller, well-known in Republican circles as a tactician, had extensively studied the value of citizenship data in gerrymandering. He died last year.

Conflating non-related issues doesn't help the left's cause or advance their argument in favor of voter fairness.

Besides, why ignore one issue just to selectively focus on another? We can and should be able to multitask.

IMO, things like filet mignon and lobster should not be EBT approved but again, that's just my opinion.

What's really hard for me to understand, is how unglued some people become over other people's opinions. :dunno:
