How is that Romney's book?
Directly. They're in his book.
I have half a mind to leave this up until the election.
"Will Christian Rethugs really vote for
a guy who thinks God lives on Kolob?"
You gotta love religions?!!
P.S. If Romney is elected president, do you think
he will have one of those JFK visions?
[/B][/SIZE]I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the planet Kolob and returning him safely to the Earth. No single space project...will be more exciting, or more impressive to mankind, or more important...and none will be so difficult or expensive to accomplish...".
President Mitt Romney, May 2013???
You mean they're in Michael D. Moody's book, don't you?
I've come to expect this kind of disingenuous crap from rightwingers. Looks like the left has it's share of bigoted bullshitters too.
So he hasn't said anything it's just a matter of you not liking Mormons.
So.. You are now admitting that you cannot find any quote that shows Romney brought his "scary" religion anywhere near the election, you just decided that it was cool to feed religious bigots who decided to try to bring it bits of your "fear" to perpetuate it and to give ignorant bigotry your seal of approval?
Wrong. All of this is your own projected bullshit, most likely borne of defensiveness. Everything out of Mitt's mouth regarding his faith is belied and contradicted by his actions. Only idiots need that spelled out further for them. You need to label anyone who bruises your delicate sensibilities a bigot. Boy, there shore are a lot of bigots on this site, Damo.![]()
So, instead of actually looking at what the man has said, and seeking exactly who brought this religion "into" this election process you simply double down and provide more for the bigots. I truly despise when I see those who preach tolerance practicing bigotry. Any respect built because of your mind is lost when you cannot practice what you preach.
Here's the difference. A right winger would claim he made a typo mistake. ()Or, in the Case of Wright and Obama, continue spreading shit three and a half years later.) I will admit to thinking the book was an authorized biography of Romney. After investigating further, I found out it's an unauthorized biography, so whether those quotes can be directly attributed to Romney or not is in question. I was wrong to misrepresent it in this case, yet due to my personal experience with Mormonism, I am still concerned about the religion Mitt embraces so wholeheartedly.
Ah, wrote the other response before reading this.... sorry.
Yet it continues to be an argument to emotion, an appeal to fear and a logical fallacy. At least you do some introspection and understand that the source is not Romney bringing his religion to this election.
What in blazes are you talking about?? Of course I've "looked at" what the man has said and it is at complete odds with what he actually does, since he claims to be Christian. And goody for you that you look your nose down on those (like me) who hold sanctimonious hypocrites' feet to the fire. Guess how much your judgment about it bothers me?
It isn't my judgment that is wanting, it is your own. Speak of tolerance and preach fear and nonsense, promoting the bigots who pretend that it was he who brought this here and project falsehoods and misrepresentations of his religion.
Hypocrisy is disgusting, but there is an easy cure.
Like I said on day 1, don't expect me to be like anyone else. ekg will tell you I have no problem with admitting to be wrong. This, however, is akin to the swift boating of Kerry. I'm sure you protested that too?
Who cares? You're splitting hairs about who *brought* it. It doesn't matter. He's a Mormon. Their beliefs are whacked. You can hate it that I feel that way, I don't mind.
Let's look a bit into this...
One guy professes to believe in a religion where talking bushes who despise footwear send stutterers to go and insult a Pharaoh, the other thinks an angel led him to a book and gave him translations devices that allowed him to read it.
I don't think one is more "crazy" than the other and believe that neither of their beliefs is something to find "scary".
And the idea that how you "feel" should matter to others is a bit much. What makes your emotions so accurate?
Like I said on day 1, don't expect me to be like anyone else. ekg will tell you I have no problem with admitting to be wrong. This, however, is akin to the swift boating of Kerry. I'm sure you protested that too?
You can *think* whatever you want to about religion, and you can size them up and determine which is nuttier, which isn't, etc., and it your assessment still won't matter to me. It's okay that you need to call me a bigot; saying it doesn't make it so, so knock yourself out.
Oh, and guess what? Those who believe as Mitt does have no business making decisions about the rest of us. Yes, that's my opinion, which does appear to matter to you or you wouldn't continue to belabour the obvious here. Let me clue you in to what's obvious: You're okay with zealots running for the highest office and I'm not. It isn't about I'm right and you're wrong, or vice versa.
