They said in big letters something about requesting a mail-in ballot and I tossed'em. I never asked ANYBODY to send a "request" for a mail-in ballot.

So, it's a typical election.
I don't know... here in PA if you request a mail-in ballot there are two questions asking why you can't vote in person. One is because of illness, the other because of absence on election day.
