Question for the mask experts

Then America loses along with you. Meanwhile Taiwan, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, China, and slowly most of Europe are winning.

You don't get to speak for Taiwan, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, China, or Europe. You only get to speak for you.

Base rate fallacy. Fear mongering. Circular argument fallacy (fundamentalism). False authority fallacy. False dichotomy fallacy. Bigotry.

very well

I see more people out today than I have in months

People don't care what the gobblement say no mo

Indeed, traffic flow in the Seattle area is pretty typical of a weekend flow these days. it's sure different when there was almost nothing on the freeways!

What victory? Mantra 7.
See, I want the economy to open faster,
Lie.
AND for more people to live.
Lie.
When more people where masks, both goals are possible
Masks do not stop a virus.
and we've seen that everywhere there has been more mask compliance.
Lie. Most people in my area area not wearing masks, indoors or out, despite King Inslee's directive for everyone to wear masks. Most of the population in Washington are effectively telling Inslee to go stuff it up his left nostril.
And it happens to be the science of it, also.
Science isn't here. Science is a set of falsifiable theories. Masks do not stop a virus. See the N95 specifications. Do not confuse engineering with science. Mantra 32.
See, I'm not relying on an old dental assessment
Belittling dentists again, I see. Argument of the Stone fallacy. Mantra 23a.
I'm looking at the recommendations of MOST of the scientific community TODAY.
You don't get to speak for most of the 'scientific community'. You only get to speak for you. Science is not a community, political group, or even people at all. Science is a set of falsifiable theories. Bigotry. Mantras 9b...32...
Who could be right on that....Darth "61" Omar, or most of the scientific/healthcare community?
You don't get to speak for most of the 'scientific community' or the healthcare community. You only get to speak for you. Bigotry. Mantras 9b...32...

Masks do not stop a virus. See the N95 specifications.

There is no way of you to know that. And the fact that you do not care enough to be sure, suggests you might be contagious.

Whether he gives a rat's ass about it or not has no bearing on whether or not he is infected with covid.

Continued fear mongering on your part.

Of course I can

Are you going to get a test every day? Wear a mask for the rest of your life?

Why won’t you answer my question about the condom? Do you wear one every time you fuck your wife? You know so you don’t give her an STD?

Same logic should apply right? If not why not?

I doubt that he cares enough to get a test every day, nor does he care enough to wear a mask everywhere for the rest of his life.

Anyone who says that is wrong about never being wrong.
Attempted force of negative proof fallacy. Contextomy fallacy. Mantras 9a...38b...
Anyone who says they never lie is lying about lying.
Attempted force of negative proof fallacy. Mantra 38b.
Refusing to accept one is sometimes wrong makes someone more wrong. Refusing to admit one is sometimes lying makes someone more of a liar.
Attempted force of negative proof fallacy. Mantra 38b.
In red states, there is definitely a rise.
States have no color. They are made up of people and their governments over a geographic area.

Fear mongering. Define 'rise'. If you are going to define a change in a value, you must specify two points in time. You must also justify why those two points in time are significant, AND you must justify why any other two points in time are NOT significant.

Infection rates are down quite a bit, from their peak infection rates, which never exceeded 1% of the population.

Masks do not stop a virus.
6 feet does not stop a virus.
Plastic sheets do not stop a virus. It just goes around them.

Infection does not necessarily cause death. Most people survive Covid 19 without any ill effects or with mild effects. The virus itself does not kill. Pneumonia is what kills. That is a bacteriological infection that can be triggered by damaged cells from the virus. It can be treated, most effectively if caught early, by using aggressive antibiotics.

You are just fear mongering. You are a bigot as well. You do not get to speak for others. You only get to speak for you.

Insulation does not trap heat. It is not possible to trap heat. Thermal insulation, including coats, reduce heat.

Wow, you are just delusional. So you put on a coat to reduce the heat of your body?

What always amazes me is that the Alt Right thinks that millions of highly educated scientists worldwide can be outsmarted by them.

Nah. You just have no idea what 'heat' means. 'Heat' is the flow of thermal energy.

I am beginning to see your mistake. Heat does not need to flow to be heat.

The N95 specification is not a lie. It is not pathetic. I didn't write it. You are just too lazy to go look it up. You also cannot tell the future. Put away your Holy Entrails. They do not work.

Masks do not stop a virus.

I wonder why they call N95 masks used in healthcare as "surgical N95"?

Same here. Traffic flow in the Madison area is at a similar flow as ITN describes for the Seattle area. I miss the "almost zero" traffic flow in a way, since it was a much easier, quicker, and relaxing commute to work. But it's also nice to see people out and about again... The sad part is when I go shopping (in the Madison area anyway) most people wear a mask (I'm typically one of the few who doesn't). The sad part of it is the fear that has been instilled into them and them thinking that it's somehow stopping a virus. Outside of the Madison area, however, is a completely different story. Most people there are not wearing masks.

Why won’t you answer my question about the condom? Do you wear one every time you fuck your wife? You know so you don’t give her an STD? Same logic should apply right? If not why not?

Actually, the same logic does apply. If there was any doubt in my mind about me being HIV positive, I would definitely use a condom. So lets say I gave CPR to someone who was HIV positive, I would use a condom with my wife, and get tested. I believe the time period for testing positive is 6 months, so I would wear a condom for a year, and then if I continued to test negative no longer need to wear a condom.

If I were to have sex with someone other than my wife (JUST A HYPOTHETICAL!!!), I would definitely wear a condom, because I would not know who she had sex with.

If we all followed that, and cleaning needles, we could reduce the transmission of HIV to a level where it would go extinct. There would still be some transmission, but it would not spread enough to continue to exist.

The same is true with Covid-19. The use of masks, testing, contact tracing, social distancing, etc. has allowed other countries to either eliminate or nearly eliminate Covid-19. America is becoming rare in our refusal to control the spread.

Less than a 1% infection is not a pandemic or an epidemic

The scientific community would disagree with you.

The very word 'epidemic' was coined during the days of the Black Death (bubonic plague), which KILLED 50% of the population of Europe.

I immediately knew you were wrong, because middle ages Western Europeans would use Latin, not Greek. The word epidemic was used in the medical sense by Hippocrates in his book "Epidemics". That was nearly 2,000 years before the Black Death.

There is no cutoff for the number of deaths involved in an epidemic. An epidemic is about rapid, unexpected spreading. If Covid-19 becomes seasonal, it would not be considered an epidemic.
