That’s The Baltimore Sun whining about Trump’s [accurate] Tweet about Elijah Cummings’ district being a rat infested mess.

Maybe someone can race-splain how Trump’s remarks were ‘racist’ because I totally don’t get it. I can think of several adjectives [like bombastic or even over-the-top] before I get to ‘racist’. Is it because Cummings happens to be black? Black people are off-limits for criticism? Is that how it works?

But isn’t that, in of itself, a form of racism?

Trump went after Cummings because of Cummings’ off-the wall remarks and because Cummings is a Democrat with some problems in his own backyard that would rival *or even exceed* conditions in some of our border facilities.

Trump was just pointing that out in his own ‘bombastic’ way that he’s become famous for.

It has nothing to do with race or racism. AND, he has a good point.

It's sad that this is what you've become, Darthy. It's not trump being "bombastic" or "over-the-top." It's trump being sick, ugly and hateful. I know he considers himself the Second Coming of Christ but Congress is an equal branch of government and its members have every right to speak out about whatever comes before them.

Cons should remember that he uses words like "infested" to describe areas that are not predominantly white. And those people are American citizens who deserve better.

My guess is based on the fact that Trump discriminated against black people in housing, he said that Haitians and Africans come from shithole countries, that Nigerians live in huts, the Mexicans tend to be rapists, and that that he continues to think the (black) central park rapists are guilty, even when they were proven innocent.

Clean up your own side's grammar Mr. Earl. There are plenty to choose from. All of the cons' attempts to deflect from trump's sick and ugly comments are what's really unattractive.

I read ‘no human being would want to live there’ with ‘no human being..’ as a rhetorical device intended to convey the idea of the *deplorable conditions* in parts of Baltimore. NOT that it was any sort of reference to the poor *citizens* who are stuck living there.

Would it be helpful if liberals understood the concept of rhetoric better? Do they still teach that sort of thing in college?

At any rate, the larger issue is Cummings’ obsession with non-citizens at the expense of his own citizens [who pay him handsomely, provide him Cadillac healthcare benefits and too numerous to mention other perks as a congress critter]. Is that the issue the Baltimore Sun is trying to deflect from? And carelessly hurling the charge of racism at Trump and engendering racial divisiveness in the process.

Isn’t that kind of despicable on their part?

And oops, I referred to Cummings as a Congress ‘critter’. It’s ok though, I would say the same about him if he was a pasty white Scotsman.

Trump has a 40 year record of words and actions that indicate a clear bias against people of color, and a clear preference for the Aryan master race.

An obscure message board poster who dedicates their life to defending and providing cover for Donald Trumpf is not going to change that record of bias and racial insensitivity.
