Question for JPP economic heavyweights

I hear much criticism about Trumps proposed tariffs on foreign imports. I’ve been hearing constant political ads about how they will raise prices for “working Americans”

Yet, part of Harris’ economic agenda is to increase corporate taxes to “make them pay their fair share”.
Taxation is not based on wealth, which is accumulated. It’s based on current income.

Whatever billionaires pay, it’s due to tax laws by Congress.

So tell me what is the difference between tariffs and increased corporate taxes when we know tha5 corporations will just pass those taxes off to consumers in the form of higher prices
Well tariffs are better than raising corporate taxes. Because lowering corporate taxes makes American made products more cost competitive in the US and on the world market. More American made products means more American jobs. No tariffs mean more cheap Chinese crap and fewer American jobs.

That's a lie. Corporations are raping consumers right now, and laughing all the way to the bank. The corporations that are paying taxes, are paying less than 10%.

Tax cuts did not create one job in this nation.

So, go to a national sales tax. The more you consume, the more tax you pay.
I have been saying that for YEARS. It also forces illegals to pay taxes. Rich people like to spend their wealth on toys and creature comforts. A consumption tax would naturally tax them more. And if you saw how much the government was consuming at EVERY purchase politicians would not be able to hide tax increases as easily.

Not always. Corporations often have inflated prices to a point their economists have figured will make them the most profit, so in that case, an increase in 'cost of production' does not automatically result in a 1 for 1 cost increase, sometime no increase, just a little less profit for the corporation.
Corporations are not in business to lose money. They pass their taxes along to everyone that buys their products.

They mostly do, they use fake ssn’s and their employers pay their payroll tax and standard deductions, then they do not request their refund.

And you can even give "poverty" cards that allow those in poverty to avoid the tax. One of the benefits of this, the rich buy more expensive things, they will pay more. Even "their fair share"...

You aren't citing facts. I offered you a link but you ignored it. With a 20% corporate tax rate with no reduction of tax loopholes, the effective rate is under 10% for most corporations. It was 16% when the tax rate was 35%.

Those are facts.
What part of "corporations don't pay taxes, their customers do" are you having trouble comprehending?

Dumbest post yet. Who is forcing you to buy these products and services from these evil corporations?
