Question about the neos

FUCK THE POLICE

911 EVERY DAY
Why are neo-conservatism and neo-liberalism both right-wing philosophies? And indeed, most of the people belonging to one neo belong to teh other. It really makes me think that people are just taking the word "neo" and slapping it on random shit to make it sound cool.

I would think about now that no one would want the word Neo slapped on them. considering the mess the Neo Conservatives have made of the USA.

Technically "neo-liberal" would make sense, because they are characteristic of the extremely right-wing liberals that went out of style before the 19th century was over. But by that vain, "neo-conservative" should be the isolationists of the old right, not the modern, interventionist new right that doesn't need to be neo anything because it's current.

The isolationists haven't really left the Republican Party though. There were definite inter-party battles between the isolationists led by Pat Buchannon and the neo-cons during the '90's.

Yes. The neos on both sides of the "aisle" are the same. They are internationalist fascists. But of course, Michael medved will tell you there's no such thing as a neocon and it's a label invented by antisemites.

But Pat Buchanan really should have been the "neo". He basically made up the label "paleo" to make up the difference, but it still doesn't make since for the new right to label themselves neoconservative.

Neo-Cons are fucked up Trotskyists, so many young Trots have now swung to the far right. Mind you I think it wasn't much of a journey for them. Trots are and were fucking totalitarian bastards so they didn't have to go far.

They are no longer american nationalists. They are internationlists who seek to use fascism to subdue the world under their control. It's similar to the international communist party but with CEO's instead of party members. Paleocons are not like this; they are american nationalists.

I wonder if Einstein would have supported israel as a state, considering how he viewed nationalism as mankind's measles. or maybe he's just another inconsistent dumbass.

That's so true, Diuretic. I have lost count of the number of Trots that I know of who have swung wildly in their political affiliations. They appear to be attracted to the drama of absolutist positions, rather than the hard work of making this world a better place step-by-back-breaking-step.

I was a member of the Labour Party in Britain in the 1980's and was heavilly involved in the mass expulsions of Trotskyists that had infiltrated that party. It was some of the best work I have ever done in support of democracy and the interests of making sure we provide a credible political option for working people.

Some people I speak with refuse to acknowledge the damage the Trots have done. The rhetoric of abuse of the Labour Party in the UK and the Labor Party here in Australia as "bourgeoise" always ignited me. I recall one heated conversation (it was a Friday night after a labour council meeting and we were all on the turps) I had where a person tried to tell me that the Labor Party (he wasn't a member, he was a union delegate but from a non-Labor left party) was all about accommodating the capitalists. I admit I went for the ad hom stranglehold and told him the only workers he'd seen in his life were the ones who came to fix his toilet.

Low blow - but it worked.

Was Tariq Ali a Trot? I see to remember reading lots about him back in the 1970s and I think the 1980s but not a peep lately.
