Question #2 in MA (decriminalization of pot)

Chapdog

Abreast of the situations
I am getting a kick out of the attempts by the state to stop this law from going into effect. They created a webpage filled with exaggeration and lies about the dangers of pot. here is an example:

MYTH: Question 2 would allow for possession of only a small amount of Marijuana.

TRUTH. An ounce of Marijuana has a street value of $600 – more for the most potent forms of the drug. As commonly packaged, an ounce of marijuana will provide for about 60 individual sales. Question 2 will allow drug dealers and users to possess and travel with up to an ounce of marijuana subject only to a civil penalty of $100 – less than the fine for speeding ticket.

There math is either total bullshit or they have never delt with weed before. lol 60 individual sales out of 1 oz?

polls show it has over 70% right now.

was funny listening to the debate today. Whitney A. Taylor was debating some dude from the DEA on it. She was tossing out all sorts of facts about how in 12states just this year a study came out that it caused no increase in the number of pot smokers with similar rules put in place.. study sponsored by the white house. Guys like I dont believe it. just look at the Netherlands.. Shes like we are not talking about putting pot coffee shops in here. LMAO

Around $100 and oz here for KY bluegrass I hear.

Think whey will be showing reefer madness on MA stations this weekend ?

$600 gets u a pound in MA.. LOL Love the inflated numbers. ohh and last I checked a dime bag was 1gram and an oz was 28grams that of course would make 28 individual sales out of an oz. i never hear of a .33gram bag.

Nazi propaganda quality fear mongering from our government. Most big cities will prob get $400 oz. Good dro might even get 600 in the biggest cities. And some poor kids might sell 60 joints in the projects out of an ounce. In middle class white America most are getting 4 sales out of an ounce for $100 each.

An initiative in Massachusetts to decriminalize the possession of an ounce of marijuana has stirred up some hypocritical public posturing on the issue.

District Attorney Daniel F. Conley confesses to taking a bong hit in his college days. DA Gerry Leone admits he “tried it once” as a collegian. DA Michael O’keefe won’t out himself beyond a typical lawyer-like circumlocution that he “did a lot of things that were unwise, unhealthy and illegal” as a youth.

So where do these pot puffing prosecutors stand on decriminalization?

Here’s a hint: all quotes in this report come from a Boston Globe article titled “DAs fight bid to ease penalty for marijuana.”

So how does this work? If marijuana is so bad why didn’t these former potheads end up as heroin hacks and crack slackers today, punching out grandma for her bingo money so they can shoot up and zone out? Marijuana, back in their college days, was known by hardcore drug warriors as a “gateway drug.” One whiff of Mary Jane and you were trapped in the ever escalating spiral of addiction, running from drug to ever harder drug in the all consuming pursuit of staying high.

But these former drug abusers (there is no “user” in the Drug War Dictionary, only “abuser”) actually graduated college. Went to law school. Passed their bar exams. Worked their way up to district attorneys.

So why is pot okay for them but not for you?

i listened to that to, she pretty much pwned. I can't wait for this to get passed. I'm surprised it took mass this long

states can legalize MJ all they want to but it will not stop the feds from arresting, prosecuting, and imprisoning users medical or not. What are your states going to do about that? what are YOU going to do about that?

Yes but the states do most of the law enforcement tasks. State decriminalization greatly reduces the likelihood of imprisonment for using pot, and that's what matters.

May everyone enjoy their drug of choice. And if they overdose, that's even better news. That's one way of taking care of overpopulation! Now, I must take my vitamins...... good night!

We passed one in Denver, only to have the D Mayor decide to have the city cops enforce the state law rather than follow what people in his city wanted...
