Queen Elizabeth has Died

She forgets she started this': Backlash over Oprah Winfrey's 'cheek' for saying she hopes Queen's death will help Harry and Meghan make 'peace' with The Firm - after HER interview with Sussexes sent shockwaves through the monarchy

Oprah Winfrey has been slammed for saying she hopes that 'burying the dead' will help Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finally make 'peace' with the royals - one year after the couple's explosive interview with the host appeared to contribute to the family's falling out.

The pair's relationship with the royal family - particularly Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton with whom Harry and Meghan were pictured on Saturday in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II's death - appeared to fracture after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they were stepping away from their royal duties and relocating to the US in early 2020.

They made a series of bombshell accusations, including that an unnamed royal raised 'concerns and conversations' about how dark Archie's skin would be before he was born, and that Kate once made Meghan cry over a flower girl dress before her wedding to Harry.

The TV personality, 68, on Sunday spoke out about where Prince Harry and Prince William stand, and she said that she feels hopeful that the tragic loss of their grandmother could bring them back together.

'I think in all families - you know, my father passed recently, this summer - and when all families come together for a common ceremony, the ritual of, you know, burying your dead, there's an opportunity for peacemaking,' she told Extra. 'And hopefully, there will be that.'

Now commentators are questioning why Oprah has re-inserted herself into the ongoing Royal Family saga given her perceived role in widening the divide between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the rest of The Firm.

Her words drew staunch criticism on social media, with many users accusing her of exacerbating the existing tensions once the couple had pulled away from royal life.

Her statement comes more than a year after the couple's explosive interview with the host (pictured) appeared to contribute to the family's falling out.

You hate black people...especially African-Americans. I get it but disagree.

FWIW, I don't put much stock in TV stars, reality or otherwise, regardless how much money they have.

Oprah, Harry and Meghan's truce won't last. Here's why the professional troublemakers won't mind tearing down the monarchy - and why the Palace MUST fight back.

The eyes of the world are on the United Kingdom. The future of the British monarchy has come together to mourn the loss of Queen Elizabeth II. It has been a dramatic and emotional experience for billions.

Most remarkably, the 'Fab Four' appeared to have called a truce.

A global audience watched as feuding brothers Prince William and Harry - and their feuding wives - walked together in a rare joint appearance to greet the queen's mourners and review the flowers and gifts left outside Buckingham Palace, where the Queen's coffin returned Tuesday after its 500 mile journey from Scotland.

Why, after Harry and Meghan accused their family of racism, cruelty and much more, even Oprah thinks that there's now hope for royal reconciliation

What happens from here is anyone's guess. But here's mine: This peace is temporary.

It's more of a ceasefire.

I never really held very strong thoughts about the Royals until Harry and Meghan splashed onto the scene.

Since then, I've recognized that there is much to appreciate – especially the inspiring example set by the queen. But I've also come to recognize something else: Meghan doesn't mind tearing the Royal family apart.

And here's why: Harry and Meghan are in the business of Harry and Meghan. And when they're creating chaos, business is good.

Because these professional troublemakers have made their choice.

After skipping town, they are no longer working Royals and they don't want to be.

They want to be A-list celebrities in America. They want to make Barack and Michelle Obama-sized money off podcasts and streaming deals. And possibly most significantly, they do not want to play second fiddle to anyone.

To be blunt – they want to be King Harry and Queen Meghan.

There was a minor uproar this week after the Royal family updated the line of succession to the throne.

Prince William is now number two after King Charles, and Prince Williams' three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are next in line.

Then comes Harry and his kids, Archie and Lilibet. But they haven't officially been given the titles prince and princess, which is their traditional right as grandchildren of a monarch – as they now are.

I know! Who cares!

Well, I bet there's one person that does, and her name rhymes with beggin'.

This is just one of many insignificant flare-ups that may convince Meghan to once again shout, 'Off with their heads,' and run off to Oprah to spill all the Royal dirty laundry.

No matter how many magazine covers Harry and Meghan grace, or interviews they give or bombshells they drop to Oprah, they will never reign over England.

It had to be a young woman with no history, to produce the heir and a spare. Harry, dope that he is, picked someone with plenty of history and entirely unsuitable to be a royal sadly. Look at the likes of Sophie Wessex and Princess Anne, they understand duty. For the first time a woman becomes an honour guard watching over the queen's body. Can't imagine MM doing that for even five minutes!!

That is such paternalistic bull shit. Chuck screwed his way through England and everywhere else before his marriage; how does anyone know he didn't spawn with one of his flings? I'd bet anything the palace had William and Harry's DNA checked even though Diana was young with no history. And look at Albert of Monaco, a pack of kids by several different women, not to mention the legitimate two. The double standards of the monarchy are sickening. Imagine being a woman dating a future king and all the tabloids can talk about is her sexual past. If Chuck wasn't such a pussy he would have married Camilla back in the day; her past was probably cleaner than his.

I can't imagine Anne allowing MM or CM to be an honor guard for the queen. She's so pompous I'm surprised she let Andrew be there.

Anne is the least pompous, most hard working and down to earth of all. She doesn't suffer fools gladly and is not shy at letting people know that to their faces.

Agreed on the double standards of monarchy in general and the Brit monarchy in particular.

Still, it's interesting to see the British monarchy join the 20th century. LOL

Anne became the first female royal to join the symbolic watch.

That's true but you can only go so far before you alienate the plebs customers.

They need something splashy to become relevant again, and the enemies of the monarchy are coming strong now that the queen is dead....now is the perfect time to escalate.

As you can see I am pretty confident that Harry has gone round the bend, his brain and heart have been warped by WOKE and Meghan.

Maybe it's shortlived I don't know but the UK, even in Scotland, has seen huge crowds for her Maj's last journey.

Many men are controlled by their dangly bits, women know that very well.

And too look at what resentful WOKE children do to their families all over the place, often cheered on by their peers.

Harry and Meghan are playing nice for the moment, but I dont expect it to last.

I think everyone understands that we are saying goodbye to a way of life, to a standard of civility...that we are regressing.
