They were revolutionaries. They didn't call for the genocide of Mexicans or Mexico, like Palestinians do about Israel. They established a independent nation once they won independence from Mexico and didn't call for continued war against Mexico. The Palestinians have complete control over Gaza, for example, but continue to do terrorist acts and fire rockets into Israel regularly. They aren't defending themselves. Even Egypt doesn't want them coming into their country because they do terrorist acts there too.
