Hunting animals is like killing one of our own.

the slaughter of one of ourselves; that the non-human animal is separated from man only by the degree of mental endowment, that it has the faculties of pleasure and pain, has the same desire for life as the most reason-endowed portion of mankind.

A ban on hunting would be idiotic. Deer populations alone would explode. They would then either starve to death or they would consume enough vegatation that WE would starve. We are carnivores by nature.

Do you fault the lion for eating the gazelle? No.

As long as the hunting is done for food and not simply for sport, then there is nothing wrong with it. Especially when it is controlled to ensure the survival of the species.... ours and theirs.
 
Banning hunting would be a disaster on several levels.

As SuperFreak said, as a control measure for the population of animals it is necessary. In fact, wildlife biologists and state fish & game authorities are trying to get MORE hunters.

There is also a financial side to hunting. The special fees paid by hunters, the taxes paid on firearms, ammunition, and other hunting gear, and the land use fees paid by hunters are vital to the state conservation funding.

The idea that hunting involves drunk rednecks riding around shooting up the woods and killing animals and leaving the carcass is nonsense. The overwhelming majority of hunters have far more respect for the wildernes and wild animals than many nonhunters. Every hunter I know puts a great deal of effort into making a quick humane kill. (much more humane than starvation)

Equating the wild animals to Bambi is none solving any problems.

Ok but you PETA freaks get to go out in to the wild and clean up all the dear that starved to death ok? That should keep you busy enough for the next 5 years to get the fur industry solidly back on it's feet. This was just a stupid post.

They'll just throw them in a freezer with all the animals they euthanize and pretend they don't exist, with all the animals they euthanize.
 
I tried to get a Republican tag for this fall, but no luck so far. I think it is a limited number drawing thing.

That figure was as high as 95% of supposedly "rescued" pets in some areas. The excuse was that the animals would be better off dead than "enslaved" by humans.

Misguided doesn't anywhere begin to describe this lunacy.

Its probably because you have been applying for a Big Game tag. Its more likely that they are like Tourists and under Varmint/Pest/Destructive Game.

Longer seasons that way too.

No, you are not allowed to hunt over bait or baited fields.

You can, however, use calls to lure them in. I recommend play Hannity, but a lot of the old-timers still swear by Rush Limbaugh.

Just remember to go for a head shot. The heart is simply too small a target unless you are an excellent marksman.

Oh, one more tip for you, since this seems to be your first republican hunting season.

Forget the standard camo. It works ok. But there is a new and exciting discovery in GOP Hunting apparel. You wear ragged clothes, several layers of mismatched jackets or sweaters, old worn shoes and smudge your face with dirt. Now, and this is the important part, get a large piece of cardboard and make yourself a sign.

Now if you ever decide to go Democrat hunting, I'd be more than happy to help there too.

I stopped hunting them because the meat simply wasn't fit to eat anymore. Too soft, too sweet and always too much left...on the platter.

Dems are easy to hunt. They travel in small herds and make quite a bit of noise. I have even known hunters who bagged the limit by walking thru the woods chanting "I am oppressed". They just seemed to come to them.

I recommend a large caliber firearm. Dems are not easy to kill, but they can take an excessively long time to die. They just never seem to give up.

But if you take one, you can continue to bag subsequent kills at the same spot. They return over & over to the same spot to lament the loss.

Just laughing. My thought is that extremists of any sripe is wrong.

And both congressional parties particiapted in getting my country screwed.
